That's His Next Film, Not His Next Next Film, His Next Next Next Film Or His Next Next Next Next FilmWhat in the name of grace and nature has gotten into Terrence Malick recently? With the announcement yesterday of two new projects both starring Christian Bale and Cate Blanchett -- "Lawless," also with Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara, and "Knight of Cups" with Isabel Lucas -- it means that the reclusive auteur looks likely to make more films in the space of this decade than he did in the previous 35 put together. Of course, he unveiled "The Tree of Life" this year, and has the IMAX documentary "Voyage of Time" reportedly still in the works, not to mention his rumored involvement with "Green Lantern 2." Okay, that we just made up.

It's Halloween and it seems that today's treats are bits and bobs about Terrence Malick's next, untitled film (aka "The Burial"). First word cropped up that little known American Indian classical composer Jerod Tate would be providing the score. But in addition to the cast which currently includes Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Barry Pepper, Charles Baker and in a small role, Jessica Chastain, it looks two more stars popped up on the set that we didn't previously known about.

It's hard to believe, but Terrence Malick essentially has three movies on the way, something we never thought we'd type. There is his "Voyage Of Time" documentary that has Brad Pitt and Emma Thompson signed up to narrate; that mystery Christian Bale project that popped up filming at the Austin City Limits music festival last month (more on that in a moment) and the already wrapped, and still untitled drama with Ben Affleck, Rachel McAdams, Rachel Weisz, Olga Kurylenko, Javier Bardem, Barry Pepper, Charles Baker and in a small role, Jessica Chastain. Of the trio of pictures, this one seems to be the one closest to the finish line and it look like Malick is now getting the music together for movie.

The Austin City Limits Music Festival this weekend was the scene for a rare photograph of renowned recluse Terrence Malick, who was spotted with Christian Bale and a camera crew by a handful of tech-savvy attendees who duly tweeted details and photos of their appearance. The duo are, of course, slated to reunite for a mysterious project that also has relative unknown Haley Bennett on board but we weren't expecting many updates on its development, at least until Bale completed production on Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight Rises."

Terrence Malick, whose output seems to be exponentially increasing, has no fewer than three projects actively on his docket: cosmic documentary "Voyage of Time;" an untitled Ben Affleck/Rachel McAdams drama rumored to be called "The Burial;" and a third project, starring Christian Bale, which should begin production in the summer of 2012. The Bale film just became a lot more concrete, as relative unknown Haley Bennett has been cast as the female lead, according to Variety.
