Jeremy Renner, Hawkeye
Jeremy Renner is going to be very busy for the next year. The actor has started shooting “Mission: Impossible 5” with Tom Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie (he’s still part of the team even though it wasn’t properly announced) and next summer he’ll be shooting the fifth, as-yet-untitled ‘Bourne’ movie for a summer 2016 release.

Guardians Of The Galaxy
Unless you’ve been locked in the Kyln, you probably noticed that “Guardians Of The Galaxy” opened this past weekend. Marvel’s latest extravaganza, a space adventure directed by Troma graduate James Gunn, was seen in advance of its release as the riskiest of the studio’s ten movies: based on a mostly comic known only to "Marvel Zombies"; unfamiliar characters; significantly different in setting and tone to megahit “The Avengers”; a cast comprised of untested B-listers as well as A-listers voicing an animated raccoon and a tree.

Avengers: Age of Ultron
With "Guardians Of The Galaxy" set to open next week, Marvel's promo machine is going to start pivoting to their 2015 offerings, "Ant-Man" and "The Avengers: Age Of UItron." And given the expansive cast of the latter, it's no surprise that they've chose to drop two Comic-Con posters, highlight both the heroes and the villains of the tentpole sequel.

Avengers, Age of Ultron
If there is anybody who has mastered the art of showing everything and nothing at the same time, it's Marvel. Indeed, they are already starting the promo train for next year's "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron," with first look photos and posters galore. And yet, they don't really reveal any big secrets behind the highly anticipated film. So all we can do is speculate, and Joss Whedon has given fans something to think about.

Marvel, Comic-Con 2014
It’s Marvel’s world and the rest of us are just living in it— at least when it comes to Comic-Con. The superhero studio juggernaut hasn't even presented anything yet (not til Saturday), but they’ve dominated the buzz and conversation down at the marketing tradeshow that is San-Diego Comic-Con. Firstly, they announced a sixth release date last night now that “Amazing Spider-Man 4” is no longer slotted for May 2018 (Marvel scooped up the empty date immediately). Then they’re garnering rave reviews for “Guardians of The Galaxy,” and they’re stealing a lot of thunder with just teaser posters for “Avengers: Age Of Ultron” and “Ant-Man.” Suffice it to say if anyone wants to unseat Marvel as the kings of Comic-Con this year, they’re going to have to start working harder.

Iron Man 3
As the Marvel-verse expands, so too does the frequent speculation about what movies will come next, which characters will return and how they'll be incorporated. But undoubtedly, the highest paid actor in Hollywood, Robert Downey Jr., can be credited with much of the comic studio's success. Frankly, if it weren't for "Iron Man" not only being successful, but become a major franchise in its own right, Marvel likely wouldn't be where they are today. But still, he's coy about whether or not "Iron Man 4" will happen.

Captain America: The First Avenger, Peggy Carter
The curious thing about the Marvel-verse is that the more it expands, the more strings need to be tied together to keep it all connected. And one strand that Marvel is continually threading belongs to Hayley Atwell's Agent Carter. First featured in "Captain America: The First Avenger," she returned in old-age makeup for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier." And now the actress confirms she'll once again make a Marvel movie appearance, this time in "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron." And she can credit alcohol for helping make that happen.

Marvel Studios
"Here we are now, 14 years since the first Marvel movie I worked on. At that point it had been eight years and for about those eight years people had been asking ‘How much longer gonna last?’ ‘When are people gonna get tired of these movies?' And my answer always was ‘People only get tired if a whole slew of terrible ones come out’. And it was our job to make sure that doesn’t happen," Marvel honco Kevin Feige said last week. "If there are other people out there interested in that not happening as well, I’m all for it!" And while there have been patchy superhero movies (see Sony's "The Amazing Spider-Man" for example), for Marvel at least, they've kept the quality level mostly consistent, so why not continue?

Avengers, Age of Ultron
After saving the world a couple of times already, you would understand if the folks in The Avengers might want to take a break, maybe kick their feet up and go on a Netflix binge. But can a hero really take a day off? That's the question that seems to underscore the forthcoming "The Avengers: Age Of Ultron," which is gearing up for Comic-Con by taking the cover of the latest edition of Entertainment Weekly.
