We can't say we've really watched the CBS psychic police procedural "The Mentalist" but as it heads into its fourth season this fall, it's clear there is an audience for the show and it looks like the cast are beginning to capitalize on that popularity. Lead actor Simon Baker has logged time already in films like "The Killer Inside Me," "Women In Trouble" and upcoming financial crisis drama "Margin Call" and now co-star Amanda Righetti will add a tentpole to her CV.

The Licensing International Expo, where movie studios court promotional partners to produce toys, Happy Meals and other unnecessary accessories to wring every cent out of potential franchises, is currently underway in Las Vegas, and a selection of early posters for big properties are starting to leak out. Most aren't really newsworthy (if you've ever wondered what a promotional one-sheet for "Men in Black 3" would look like, it involves the letters M, I and B, followed by the number 3, on a black background), but there's one exception.

And More We Learned From The Filmmakers Of 'Thor'"Thor" is swinging its mighty hammer into cinemas this weekend, and it may be a surprise to many moviegoers, proving to be a lighter, jauntier superhero film that the material might suggest. The cast and filmmakers did the press rounds, and as usual, bits and pieces about what might be in store for the future Marvel universe were hinted at, but also just as intriguingly, the process on making "Thor" was brought to the fore as well. Playlist writer Leah Zak spoke with Marvel guru Kevin Feige in an interview as well as participating in group conversations with the rest of the "Thor" team and here's what we learned.

Tom Hiddleston has two 2011 releases where he's working with directing legends, a featured player in both Woody Allen's "Midnight In Paris" and Steven Spielberg's "War Horse." But undoubtedly, most audiences will see him as the villainous Loki in this Friday's "Thor." But could it be that Hiddleston will also be involved in another blockbuster a year from now?

Actor Confirms That Captain America And Tony Stark Will Butt Heads In 'The Avengers'Little bit of nerd talk here, bear with us. Given the nature of most modern super hero films, WW2 is a pretty unique setting, which makes "Captain America: The First Avenger" --- a picture that has looked better and better since it was first announced -- something that could (hopefully) pan out as an interesting, enjoyable and entertaining piece of popcorn (hey, if "Thor" can pull it off, anything's possible, right?). So, some of us have been asking internally, could a "Captain America" sequel possibly be set once again in WW2? Or sometime in the past?

In Semi-Related News, Sun Rises In East, Sets In WestBit by bit, we're moving towards the hugely ambitious endgame of the first wave of Marvel's self-produced pictures. We've had two "Iron Man" films and an "Incredible Hulk," and they're soon to be joined by "Thor" (look out for our review coming in the next 24 hours) and "Captain America: The First Avenger," while "The Avengers," the Joss Whedon-helmed epic that'll team the heroes of all four franchises, starts filming this very day, ahead of its release a year from now.

Tom Hiddleston Confirmed To Be Coming Back As LokiThat was quick. Just two days ago we were discussing the new frontrunners for the role that turns out to be SHIELD Agent Maria Hill, the sidekick for Samuel L. Jackson's Nick Fury character in Marvel's "The Avengers" film (for a second there we were thinking they'd turn this character into the Wasp). Names included Mary Elizabeth Winstead (”Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World”), “V” star Morena Baccarin (who also starred in 'Avengers' director Joss Whedon‘s “Firefly” and the film “Serenity”), Jessica Lucas (”Cloverfield”) and Cobie Smulders.

Well, that was fast. Last night Samuel L. Jackson hit "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" and confirmed that Nick Fury would be in both "Captain America: The First Avenger" and "Thor." He also dropped the bomb that tomorrow, he was going to be screentesting with actresses for some kind of companion role in the upcoming "The Avengers" telling Fallon, "I gotta screen test like five actresses on Friday. They have this new character that’s my sidekick or something, that’s with me all the time."
