There really is no rest for the wicked. Blood and brain matter, lechery, and crude allusion spew out of this weekend's cinematic lineup by the gallon. There's gangster genre violence, imitative violence, monster violence, violence against children, bullying violence, historical violence, and the violence with which (the always spectacular) Dame Maggie Smith attacks a role and stuns us all. Sony Pictures Classics and Pedro Almodóvar are cinematic peanut butter and jelly, a union that is never wrong and has been fruitful for many, many years. So no duh, the arthouse shingle has once again teamed up with the helmer to distribute his next film, "I'm So Excited." No word yet if the Pointer Sisters will be on the soundtrack.

2012 is just a few days away, and there are a slew of new posters for films that will be released in the new year (assuming none of them switch over to The Weinstein Company, at which point, their release dates will be changed seven times before the film is inevitably dumped on Blu-ray. What up, “Shanghai”!).
