This summer, we're going to see a couple of different sides to Emma Watson that Hermione fans may not be used to. As the newest trailer for "This Is The End" revealed, she is not fucking around with the Apatow boys in the apocalypse comedy, and once she's done with that she'll be getting a bit wild for Sofia Coppola in "The Bling Ring."

On Tuesday, it was announced that Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" would open this year's Cannes Film Festival, still the most prestigious, and arguably most important event on the cinematic calendar. And today, March 14th, marks the last day on which films can be seen by the selection panel for the festival, which kicks off May 15th.

With the release date on the horizon, we can expect a steady drip of photos and trailers from Sofia Coppola’s latest film "The Bling Ring" over the coming months. The film is a true-crime drama based on the events surrounding a group of Los Angeles teenagers who went on a celebrity-obsessed burglary spree in October 2008. They targeted the homes of starlets such as Paris Hilton and Lindsay Lohan and by the time they were found out in August 2009, the gang had stolen nearly $3 million worth of luxury gear and been given the nickname The Bling Ring.

It looks like young people doing very bad things is going to be recurring theme this year. And the folks at A24 are more than happy to bring it you. Later this month, Harmony Korine and his group of young starlets tear up Florida in "Spring Breakers." And then this summer, Emma Watson joins another group of no good kids to steal and rob in "The Bling Ring" but there's one difference -- this is based on actual events.

You can't really argue the taste of up-and-coming film distributors A24. They've just released their first film, Roman Coppola's "A Glimpse Inside The Mind Of Charles Swan III," and their upcoming slate includes Harmony Korine's "Spring Breakers" and Sally Potter's "Ginger & Rosa." And they are continuing to put their attention on auteur driven work by nabbing one of the most anticipated films of the year (at least for us).

Going in front of cameras earlier this year, Sofia Coppola's next effort "The Bling Ring" has been flying a bit under the radar. While there have been some official stills, we've mostly had to make out what we can of the movie from the various set photos, but as 2012 winds down and we look ahead to 2013, we will definitely start to see more.

While the Cannes Film Festival may be the place where the finest auteurs from around the world come to unveil their latest offerings, the other side of the fest is the robust market where distributors and producers hawk their wares to buyers, hoping to sell foreign rights for their pictures. In order to help get contracts drawn up and cheques signed, clips or entire movies may be shown, but if those things aren't ready, sometimes a still photo will have to suffice.

Well filming is wrapped on "The Bling Ring" but it feels like we've already gotten an eyeful already. An almost endless stream of set photos have been appearing over the last few weeks but Emma Watson herself is getting in on the fun, tweeting out a new look at her in costume from the film as the character Nicki.
