"I don't see 'Sex and the City 3' happening," Chris Noth recently told Parade magazine when asked about a third installment of the big-screen series based on the TV series based on the book. "I'm not disappointed if they don't. I miss the early days before it became sort of a circus of attention, when it hadn't become this iconic thing." Meanwhile, Miranda herself, Cynthia Nixon, is happy to move on, telling THR, "I think we had a wonderful ride. I think it's fine to let it go." But if you absolutely need your fix of Carrie Bradshaw and her various shenanigans, time to tune into the CW...

Long a go-to place to reach teen-aged viewers, The CW (formerly known as The WB for you old timers) has made an impressive pick-up of five new drama pilots to turn to series for its forthcoming slate of shows. While the network that’s become commonly associated with “Gossip Girl” and the revamped “90210” regularly adds a few new teen-friendly scripted series every year, the addition of these five new shows is a new record for the network.

This is either going to be a huge hit and be a television staple for many years to come, or a car-crash that barely makes it through a handful of episodes. We're talking about "The Carrie Diaries" -- the "Sex and the City" prequel based on the novels of Candance Bushnell that's being lined up over at the CW. The series will follow Carrie Bradshaw back in the '80s during her senior year of high school.
