While his films may be questionable in quality for the most part, there's no denying that their financial success have given “Underworld” helmer Len Wiseman some clout and respect among industry circles, and indeed, his expertise is being eyed to help bring a comic book to the big screen.

While the buzz out of Sundance on Mary Elizabeth Winstead's performance in the alcoholism drama "Smashed" was overwhelmingly positive, it has yet to build into a enough of a groundswell where the actress will start getting parts for films outside the genre circuit. And thus, Winstead is headed back into the horror/thriller game.
