"Jurassic Park IV" isn't the only proposed 2014 movie currently without a director. Sony's "The Equalizer" has been developing for a good while now, with Denzel Washington slated to star, but it's had a hard time keeping a director. Paul Haggis was once mooted with Russell Crowe in the lead, and then Nicolas Winding Refn came aboard late last year, only to exit the movie about a month later. But now, it may have landed a worthy replacement.

It looks like Nicolas Winding Refn is starting the New Year by wiping the slate clean. "Only God Forgives" is gearing up to arrive this spring, with briefest of teaser trailers landing last weekend. And though he signed up for his first Hollywood movie back in July 2012, it seems Refn has thought things over.

We can't quite say we saw this coming. As Nicolas Winding Refn puts the finishing touches to his "Drive" follow-up, "Only God Forgives," many had assumed that he would move on to his "Logan's Run" remake with BFF Ryan Gosling. But the actor recently departed the project, and one perhaps suspects that Refn's lost his taste for the film as a result, as word's been very quiet on it late. But it looks like the director's next film will be a studio movie after all, rather than "I Walk With The Dead" with Carey Mulligan. But it won't be "The Button Man," a thriller set up at DreamWorks, and it won't be "Logan's Run."

Seems folks in Hollywood woke up this morning, rubbed the sleep out of their eyes, and decided to make some release date changes and additions. Warner Bros. has already moved "The Great Gatsby" to next summer, while over at Sony, they are making some changes of their own.

After a short, but well-deserved break between 2010’s “Unstoppable” and this past February’s “Safe House,” actor Denzel Washington is back with the force you’d expect from a man who once yelled King Kong “ain’t having sh*t on me” during a heated exchange in “Training Day.” Anyways, he has the Robert Zemeckis-directed drama “Flight” set to land this November, he’s currently shooting the action picture “2 Guns” alongside Mark Wahlberg, and we just had word he could star alongside Will Smith in “Anchorman” director Adam McKay’s remake of “Uptown Saturday Night." And now we have further info on a long-developing project with Washington attached.

Well, here's an update to a project we sort of totally forgot about. As you might remember, over a year ago it was announced that Sony were looking to bring the hit 1980s series "The Equalizer" to the big screen with Paul Haggis in talks to write the project for his pal Russell Crowe (they had just wrapped up "The Next Three Days"). Well, that iteration won't come to pass, as in Sony's announcement today about their extended first look deal with the production shingle Escape Artists, they reveal another actor may take the part.
