This weekend, "The Expendables 3" hits theaters. Maybe you saw it already, thanks to it being leaked online. Or maybe you didn't. Or maybe you, ahem, "didn't." At any rate, now is a good time to go back to the halcyon days of 2010 with "The Expendables."

Earlier this year, Lionsgate bought Summit for big pile of money, and the question more savvy business types began asking was: "Why?" Granted, the indie studio was successful, largely due in part to the "Twilight" franchise, but it remained to be seen how Lionsgate would exploit the rest of their catalog to make the purchase worth the price. Well, now there appears to be some insight into their approach.

The Never-Happened Fake-Trailer Was Supposed To Star Stallone, Schwarzenegger & WillisAlright, we're on IndieWire now (hold on, don't groan, there is a point to this) and before the move this interesting could-have-been tidbit got lost in the moving shuffle. You'll recall earlier this month Austin filmmaker Robert Rodriguez took part in a Facebook livechat and it was there he revealed that "Sin City 2" would be the follow-up film after "Spy Kids 4: All the Time in the World," not "Deadpool" (and obviously that was his way of saying. "I'm passing" as Swedish filmmaker Adam Berg appears to be the frontrunner for the directing gig).
