Yes, the casting continues on "The Expendables 2," the sequel to last year's surprising smash hit movie (hauling over $270 million worldwide), and it's bringing together a batch old fogies such as Sylvester Stallone, Randy Couture, Bruce Willis, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Jean-Claude Van Damme, with more names getting their schedules worked out and Liam Hemsworth recently added to try and provide some younger eye candy. Well, one more rumored name has now been confirmed, and at the age of 35, he'll be on the younger end of the ass-kicking spectrum.

While his older brother Chris Hemsworth launched himself to worldwide fame with "Thor" earlier this year, Liam Hemsworth will soon join his sibling in the ranks of mega-movie fandom. Set to star as Gale Hawthorne in the upcoming "The Hunger Games" the actor is looking to take his shirt off again for the ladies and boost his action credentials alongside a bunch of old guys.

Chuck Norris & Jean-Claude Van Damme Confirmed, Are Michael Biehn And Michael Pare In The Mix Too?"The Expendables" having proven successful enough in its collection of elderly ass-kickers to get a sequel green-lit, it was clear that creator/writer/star Sylvester Stallone would have to raise his game for the second go-round. First of all, with not all the stars returning (it looks like Jet Li won't be back, for one), it would help to draft in a few more action icons to help make up the numbers. And secondly, with the first film being somewhat subpar, and the less than amazing Simon West ("Con Air," "Lara Croft: Tomb Raider") replacing Stallone in the director's chair, it'd need something special to get all but the least discerning action fans excited about a sequel.

Duo Listed In 'The Expendables 2' Cast On Millenium Films' WebsiteCasting rumors have long been circulating for "The Expendables 2," with names like John Travolta, Donnie Yen and Taylor Lautner among those being linked to the action sequel. While none of these have been confirmed, the website for Millennium Films has posted a cast list for the high testosterone actioner, slated for release next August, and in addition to the returning cast, the two new names are ones we've heard about several times already: Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme.

'80s Action Star Christopher Lambert Reportedly Sought For Sequel As WellSince nearly everyone and his mother was linked to casting rumors for the first installment of "The Expendables," it only makes sense that there would be a whole new list of potential recruits for the sequel. Moviehole confirms that previously suggested names like Chuck Norris, John Travolta and Donnie Yen are indeed being mentioned as possibilities, with Yen even receiving an offer But wait, there's more, as those names are just the tip of the iceberg because the folks at Nu Image, as well as director Simon West and star Sylvester Stallone, have reportedly drafted a pretty gaudy wishlist of potential players.

As "The Expendables 2" keeps moving toward a start date, the rumored casting for the elderly action flick continues unabated. It was just about a month ago that we got our last look at the proposed assembled team with Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Dolph Lundgren, Mickey Rourke, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis set to appear, and John Travolta and Chuck Norris as the supposed new names. However, curiously missing was Jet Li who played the somewhat offensively named Yin Yang, easily the most energetic member of the cast who was mostly squandered as the butt of the joke in the film. So it looks like Sly and co. are trying to find another familiar martial arts face to step in.

Jet Li Apparently Has Better Things To DoWith a director now in place in the shape of Simon West, the man behind “Con Air” and a bunch of movies that offered greatly diminished returns, and with a release date now set for just over a year from now, "The Expendables 2" will presumably start casting up hard soon, but the rumors continue to fly.

If you were to draw up a list of the ten worst directors currently working in Hollywood, you'd have to save space for Simon West, who came out swinging with the botched delirium of sub-Bay actioner "Con Air" and has only gone downhill from there. West's films are cacophonous noise tunnels where the human spirit is unwelcome, where cynicism and craven stupidity triumph over creativity and ingenuity. Each one of his films has either a ripe premise, a great cast, or a too-big budget, only to be squandered by his narrow vision and neanderthal caveman storytelling. Yet somehow, Sylvester Stallone, who normally has an ear for his dyed-in-the-wool fans on the internet, has picked Simon West to helm "The Expendables 2."
