First off: big thanks to Katie for taking over last week! In that spirit of camaraderie, we suggest you round up a few friends and head out to the multiplex (or art house; we're not picky). You’re in for a round of scares, laughs, tears, and karate chops to the face. Also, Tyler Perry appears on screen in rare form as a man and someone finally uncovers the mystery of Sasquatch. So very, very much to look forward to!

If there’s one genre that will never go out of style, it’s the coming-of-age film. On the heels of the theatrical release of “The Perks Of Being A Wallflower” -- which we greatly enjoyed -- is a trailer for the upcoming Sundance-tipped and Jon Kasdan-helmed film “The First Time.”

One of the more impressive screen debuts of last year came from 21-year-old Welsh actor Craig Roberts. A British children's TV veteran (he was the star of "The Story Of Tracy Beaker" and "Young Dracula" among others), Roberts broke out as the pretentious, deluded hero of Richard Ayoade's charming "Submarine," coming across as equal parts Dustin Hoffman, Bud Cort and John Gordon Sinclair (from "Gregory's Girl"), and it seemed to mark the birth of a star.

Jonathan Kasdan, son of director Lawrence Kasdan, made his directorial debut back in 2007 with "In The Land Of Women." The film was a middling success and probably wasn't helped by casting Seth Cohen Adam Brody in the lead role but the young director is prepping his next film and his some pretty lofty ambitions.
