If you're one of Hollywood's most legendary gossip-mongers, forced to sit in your hands for months by a non-compete clause before launching your own self-titled website, you'd better come back with a doozy of a scoop. Fortunately, that's what Nikki Finke has done. The much-feared, much-ridiculed writer debuted her new site earlier today, and has followed it up with a pretty huge story: the details of Warner Bros.' plans for their DC Comics movies, which the studio were planning to reveal at Comic-Con.

The Flash
If you were though pop culture was saturated enough with superheroes, you ain't seen nothing yet. With Marvel developing a handful of projects for Netflix, DC Comics properties "Gotham" and "Constantine" both greenlit for television series' next fall, the small screen is the next medium getting set to be overtaken by people in costumes. It's not just "Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D." out there anymore. And over at The CW, they've got "The Flash" coming and they've dropped a massive five-minute trailer to feast your eyes on.

Superhero movies that never came to pass
This weekend "The Wolverine," starring Hugh Jackman as the adamantium-clawed avenger (is he ever not playing Wolverine?), will be slashing its way onto screens nationwide. But as fans know, this wasn't the original vision that Jackman and Fox had in mind. No, that version was to be helmed by Darren Aronofsky as his follow-up to his Oscar-winning "Black Swan," and we can only imagine what his take would've been on the story (based in part on the great Frank Miller/Chris Claremont run from the '80s) that serves as the foundation for this reboot. The movie's prolonged Japanese shoot was cited as the reason for his departure, but one also wonders if he would've been able to have the full creative sway he's used to.

The Flash Movie
Well, the floodgates are open, the cat is out of the bag. Anything that Warner Bros. wanted to announce in secret at Comic-Con is out on the table. Corroborating the just released news of a Superman & Batman film is coming for 2015, THR is also advancing the story just a little: a "Flash" movie is being eyed tentatively for 2016 and a "Justice League" movie is looking like it will land in 2017. The bold move signifies that WB is finally ready to get into the ring with Marvel for super hero film box-office hegemony by staking some dates in the ground for their shared universe. At the same time, these plans sound like they are in the very early stages.

Just Like Audiences Worldwide, WB Reportedly Not Happy With Martin Campbell's DirectionThere is nothing about a prospective "Green Lantern 2" that doesn't reek of flop sweat. DC Entertainment and Warner Bros. are scuffling in their race against Marvel/themselves to develop a new chain of franchises based on comic book characters, and the performance of "GL" this summer has certainly hurt momentum. With "The Dark Knight Rises" pegged for next summer and "The Man Of Steel" after that, they're going to want to diversify, lest the studio be forced to greenlight a bunch of actual real movies with interesting original characters not made to sell Happy Meals. Ye gods.

Or Is His Name Just On A Big Wishlist? How fast do rumors travel these days for ravenous bloggers making mountains out of molehills? Lightning quick. What is tossed off as an aside in a ScreenRant gets picked up the world round and is already building the kind of traction that makes planets spin backwards in lieu of a good, plausible story line.
