It would be safe to say that The Playlist is as sick of the just-wrapped-up awards season as anyone. The endless ceremonies, often with the same results, the blind guesses, the half-informed speculation; by the time it reaches March, we're kind of furious with the whole circus.

Yep, "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" continues to add cast members to the film that is still shooting and will continue to do so through the spring. And the latest to join the cast is a familiar face we haven't really seen in a while.

Freida Pinto Bond Girl Rumors Persist We were as pleasantly surprised as anyone when 2006's "Casino Royale" turned out to not only be a thoroughly successful reboot of the James Bond franchise for the modern era, but also the best Bond movie since the Connery era. By the same token, we were as disappointed as anyone when quickie follow-up "Quantum of Solace" proved to be as bad as the worst Brosnan entries, let down by a writer's strike-afflicted script and poor direction from Marc Forster.

Even if some of the awards heat has fallen off "The Social Network," with "The King's Speech" taking over the front-runner spot, David Fincher's got to be feeling pretty good about himself of late. After a few years that saw him make the brilliant "Zodiac," which was mostly ignored by audiences, and finally finish "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button," released to lukewarm reviews even from his biggest fans, 2010 saw Fincher put out a film that resonated with both critics and audiences for the first time since "Seven." What's more, he's the new favorite at Sony, who has given him a hefty budget to kick off what they hope will be a huge franchise for them, with the adaptation of Stieg Larsson's "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."

Believe it or not, even though "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo" is already set for December release date, David Fincher is going to be racing to the finish line. The length shoot started this fall and as Stellan Skarsgård recently revealed production will continue in L.A. and Sweden right through until April or May. With a lengthy shooting schedule it's no surprise that casting of smaller parts continues and a new name has been added along with a couple of others that have slipped through the cracks.

David Fincher Also Says Critics Are Wrong About 'The Social Network'; It's A "Movie" Not A "Film," Not Meant To Define A GenerationYou’ve probably seen the first official photos from W magazine of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander that went around the internet earlier this week. Well, attached to those photos is an eight page article about the career of director David Fincher, as well as a behind-the-scenes look at his upcoming adaptation of “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo”. Even if you think you’ve read everything you can stomach about “The Social Network” at this point, Fincher still offers up a few choice, provocative quotes about his Oscar contending film, saying that basically, critics who have fawned over his movie have gotten it wrong and that even in his own estimation it's just a "movie" not a "film."

Yesterday the jaw of the internet collectively dropped when the first image of Rooney Mara as Lisbeth Salander hit the web and just when we think we've recovered, a new batch of photos are making the rounds from the W magazine shoot, and if we were fifteen years younger in our mopey, listening-to-The-Cure-non-stop teenage years, we would have found our new girlfriend.

David Fincher's "The Social Network" has been praised and well, maybe not entirely loved, in many circles, but all seem to be in agreement that the film sounded unlike anything released in 2010, thanks to the pulsating and moody electronic score from Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. The Nine Inch Nails bandmates designed an aural soundscape that made the Harvard campus in 2003 feel like an alien planet, and Fincher seems gracious enough to understand Reznor was integral to that success. As a result, Reznor looks to be onboard "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo."
