After numerous delays, extending shooting, release date bumps and a general air of mystery, Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmasters" is -- believe or not -- actually finished, headed to theaters overseas and now the first, generous full length trailer is here. And yes, it's everything you thought it would be.

Wong Kar Wai, the director behind "Chungking Express" and "In the Mood For Love," has been selected to be the Jury President of the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival. While this is a really good call on behalf of the film festival, Wong Kar Wai is also an international treasure, and will certainly add a certain amount of flavor to the jury.

It started filming in December 2009, and two-and-a-half years later, Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmaster" is still in front of cameras. We won't bore you with the details of the various stops and starts of the production over the past couple years, but needless to say, the highly anticipated movie has taken on Malick-ian proportions. Earlier this spring there appeared to be some kind of light at the end of tunnel when the film was dated with a December 18th release date in China, but that came with a caveat, with producers adding there the movie was headed to back for more shooting in May. And it appears it's still lensing.

We're almost exactly a third of the way through the year, and thanks to the announcement of the Cannes Film Festival line-up a couple weeks ago, we're now a little clearer on the timetable of some of the most anticipated films of the year. We know that "Cosmopolis," "Killing Them Softly," "On The Road," "Mud," "Rust And Bone," "Amour" and "The Paperboy," among others are done, and will be screening in only a few short weeks for critics, and U.S. releases, if not set already, can't be far behind. And the release schedule for the rest of the year is firming up fast, with films like "The Master" and "Seven Psychopaths" getting added to the calendar.

It's five years since the last film from the great Chinese director Wong Kar-Wai. It's eight since his last Chinese-language film, "2046." And depending on your tolerance for the latter, it's twelve since his last great film, "In The Mood For Love." But Kar-Wai has such a hugely impressive body of work behind him -- from "Ashes Of Time" to "Chungking Express" -- that anything he does will have a fever-pitch of anticipation behind it, and that only seems to get greater the longer he takes with his latest project, "The Grandmaster."

...and the wait continues. Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmaster" continues to build with all the mystery and delays of a Terrence Malick-worthy production. Not much has been seen of the film save for a few stills and a recently released teaser trailer (that is almost identical to one we saw last year). And as we figured, any chances of the movie showing up at Cannes are a pipe dream.

And just like that, out of nowhere, comes another new look at Wong Kar-Wai's "The Grandmasters." Twitch has unveiled a new, Russian teaser trailer for the highly anticipated, mysterious, continually delayed film. It's pretty much what we saw in the teaser last summer, albeit with a few different angles and some very red drops of blood.

A couple of new images have arrived from Wong Kar-wai's latest, "The Grandmasters," but somewhat disappointingly, they continue to simply show the same fighting scene which has dominated all of the film's limited marketing so far.

While we finally got "The Dark Knight Rises" official teaser trailer earlier today and with spots for "The Avengers" and "The Amazing Spider-Man" due this week, it looks like Wong Kar-Wai has come out of nowhere and kicked all kinds of superhero ass.
