"The Great Gatsby" promo train keeps rolling, and if the posters, trailers and various TV spots haven't been enough, the soundtrack has been coming with some heat, with a six minute preview dropping yesterday with the only full song to be unveiled so far being the unlistenable Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock with "A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)." Well, now something a lot more pleasant has arrived.

The Great Gatsby
Yeah, we know -- it seems the "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack previews haven't stopped with listens to Nero, Lana Del Rey and Fergie, Q-Tip and GoonRock all arriving in recent days, but how about the whole damn thing?

All you need to know about how confident Warner Bros. is about "The Hangover Part III" versus their faith in Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" is apparent in their promotional campaigns. One movie has only dropped a couple of trailers, a few posters and a small handful of stills. The other is deep in with multiple spots, numerous soundtrack previews, lots of posters and something new to gawk at nearly every day. But yes, basing a spring tentpole on an adaptation of a book published in 1925 is a risk even with Leonardo DiCaprio starring, so this one is throwing out as much glitter as it can in advance of its release next month.

It was just over a year or so ago that every music blog on the planet couldn't stop writing about Lana Del Rey, tracking her every move, breathlessly awaiting the release of her debut album. Then it arrived and everyone kind of shrugged, and her quick rise was followed by a cynical fall, cemented by a less than stellar performance on "Saturday Night Live." But she has continued to press on, and is still enough of a name to have worked her way onto "The Great Gatsby" soundtrack. And the results? Pretty much what you'd expect.

From Jake Gyllenhaal reading the audiobook to the 3D visuals to the Jay-Z produced soundtrack, "The Great Gatsby" is driving the hoop to cover the demographic known as: 15-34. That's where the money is at the box office and if you're dusting off a book that many kids associate with English class, you better make it worth your while. But that means for the rest of us, "The Great Gatsby" might be ear poison.

It seems Hollywood is in the full blown grip of F. Scott Fitzgerald fever, or they're at least reading "The Great Gatsby" again. Of course, there is Baz Luhrmann's ambitious adaptation dropping next month, but if you're looking to catch up with the source material without having to actually read anything, Jake Gyllenhaal is here to help.

As the case has been made abundantly clear, "The Great Gatsby" is going for broke in the big screen, 3D adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald's classic novel. Of the biggest sticking points for those still on the fence about the movie is Baz Luhrmann's choice to go with contemporary music (with a soundtrack overseen by Jay-Z), adding some modern swagger to the Jazz Age tale. We'll know in a few weeks if it all works, but an early taste has arrived.

Giving your summer movie viewing a requisite dose of literary authority, Baz Luhrmann's "The Great Gatsby" is coming with an equal mix of high expectations, quiet rumbling about a troubled production, star power, a Cannes Film Festival opening slot, 3D, Jay-Z and whatever else you can add on the pile. It's a helluva basket of eggs. And if that weren't enough, the director is already hinting that the familiar story from the classic book by F. Scott Fitzgerald, could be in for a bit of tweaking.

Well, you gotta admit, Baz Luhrmann has a pretty big pair of brass ones when it comes to "The Great Gatsby." With a soundtrack dressing up the classic American novel with songs by will.i.am, Fergie, Lana Del Rey, Jay-Z and The xx, he's certainly taking F. Scott Fitzgerald's book out of the classroom and into...somewhere else. And with 3D visuals, lavish set design and, oh yeah, an all star cast, it's go big or go home. And now a few more treats are here to bring you into Luhrmann's world.
