New Character Posters For 'The Hangover 2' RevealedNow that we got all of that Cannes stuff out of the way -- at least for this morning -- back to the summer blahs which means big, expensive popcorn fare that won't tax the brain, but aims to dazzle the eye. And with these projects looking to obliterate all of your senses, no surprise that that two films have brought on some big names to help flex their muscle in the music department.

Nick Cassavetes Replaces Liam Neeson In Reshot 'Hangover 2' Cameo

So far what we've seen from the highly anticipated sequel "The Hangover Part II" hasn't impressed in the slightest. The first trailer feels like a warmed-over rehash of everything from the first film but simply transplanted to Thailand. But if anything, Todd Phillips is determined to get the small role of the Bangkok tattoo artist right. First he had planned for Mel Gibson to take the part, but objections from the cast (mostly Zach Galifianakis) put the kibosh on that. Next, Liam Neeson was called up, but as Phillips readies the film for a Memorial Day release on a tight schedule, he still didn't have the scene he wanted and now someone else is stepping into the role.

The boys, err, the Wolfpaack are back in town. The first poster for "The Hangover 2" has hit the films' Facebook page and it shows the boys -- Bradley Cooper, Zach Galifianakis and Ed Helms -- in the various states of fucked-up-ness as you'd imagine from this sequel.

Along with Judd Apatow, Todd Phillips is one of a few filmmakers you could say was truly responsible for shaping the modern studio comedy over the last decade. “Old School” and “The Hangover” practically set the template for raunchy-but-realistic man-centric comedies, launching the big-screen careers of almost all involved in the process. The filmmaker, whose “The Hangover Part II” is finished and will be shown to the studio this week with a trailer to follow soon, sat down with Elvis Mitchell for a panel discussion at SXSW that we attended, to talk about his career as well as discuss his highly anticipated sequel.

New Images From 'The Hangover 2'; Justin Bartha Says Doug Isn't Lost This Time Around

Last month, a teaser trailer for the highly anticipated "The Hangover 2" arrived and announced the return of The Wolfpack, but once again, Justin Bartha's character of Doug was nowhere to be found. But there was a monkey featured very prominently (this writer thinks Doug is the monkey but no one else in The Playlist office will listen). There's still two months to go before the film hits theaters and full length trailer will likely shed some light on what's happening, but until then, these latest images from Empire (print edition, not yet online) will have to do. They also managed to speak to the cast and Bartha reveals that Doug will likely to get play along with the Wolfpack.

You might love the magic from his fingertips now, but in a week it's gonna be as cute as "Borat" quotes. But with Sheen on everyone's minds these days -- the actor joined Twitter and gained a million followers in just over 24 hours -- specious and unchecked rumors are bound to make the rounds by hit-hungry opportunists.

We're only a few months away from "The Hangover 2" and undoubtedly, director Todd Phillips is in the thick of it to get it done so you'll understand why the first teaser for the film is quite short. But no matter, the returning trio of Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis walking in slo-mo to Jay-Z's "Reminder" is all that's needed to get us excited.

A handful of new images to share: first up is a new still from Todd Phillip's "The Hangover" sequel which shows Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms and Zach Galifianakis getting amongst it and clearly exhibiting two previously discussed physical transformations in Helm's Mike Tyson-esque face tattoo and Galifianakis' shaved head. Things have been extremely quiet on the marketing end for the film but all of that will soon change with the first trailer set to be unveiled this week.

Much speculation has surrounded Todd Phillip's highly anticipated sequel to "The Hangover" but other than some casting news, a few set photos and the recent revelation that Bill Clinton isn't making a cameo in the film, the project has managed to remain relatively secretive. Speaking with MTV at the Sundance Film Festival, though, actor Paul Giamatti -- one of few additions to the sequel -- has provided a little color to the bare details that are already out there.
