New Pics Of 'Red Riding Hood' & 'Sucker Punch' TooThis week seems to be bringing us a bounty of first looks with "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" and "Spider-Man" earning much buzz over the past couple of days. But it doesn't end there as in the pages of the latest Entertainment Weekly, some new pics (not yet online) of a couple of major comedies and fantasy pics have hit; perhaps studios want to get this stuff out before the entire movie world focuses on Sundance next week..

It's almost December, which means that 2010 is already starting to sneak out from under the covers, before putting its clothes on and disappearing forever. That in turn means that the studios are starting to send out their promotional materials for their 2011 slates. Between these and the 2011 previews from the likes of Empire and EW, we're going to get a lot of first looks at pictures in the next few weeks, so fans of film stills, synopses, or movie blogs desperately trying to pad out otherwise thin posts should keep their eyes peeled in the run up to Christmas.

Let's get this out of the way: "The Hangover" was a fairly amusing movie. It was also loaded with homophobia, misogyny and embarrassing racial stereotypes. More importantly, the questionable moral of the film seemed to be that boys will be boys, especially when it comes to violent, reckless endangerment, kidnapping and sexual irresponsibility. We're not so prudish to lie about watching "The Hangover" stone-faced, but it did seem a lot like yet another apologia for the bad behavior of wayward men courtesy of Hollywood. Mostly, it's movies like this that make our girlfriends think the worst of us. Thanks, Ed Helms!

Even though Mel Gibson was reportedly furious about being bounced from a cameo role in Todd Phillips' upcoming "The Hangover 2," it looks like Liam Neeson, who has taken over the role, won't be on the receiving end of any phone calls with seething and heavy breathing.

Okay, so Todd Phillips' "Due Date," opening this Friday, wasn't quite the gut-busting comedy we were hoping for, but that doesn't matter because in about seven months, the director will get another stab at the apple when he drops "The Hangover 2."

Liam Neeson Scene Will Have "Gravity"; Phillips Still Working On John Belushi Biopic With Zach Galifianakis In Mind"The Hangover 2" quickly went from highly anticipated sequel shooting somewhat under the radar to a picture that now has a neverending stream of news coming out about the film. You would think Edward and Bella were in this thing, but we suppose that's what happens when you attempt to cast Mel Gibson in an ill-advised cameo. Combine that with press rounds for "Due Date" happening shortly after all of this broke and you have the perfect storm, so consider this a wrap up of the news of all things Todd Phillips-related in the past 48 hours or so.

Todd Phillips Says Decision Boosted Morale On SetWith all the fuss in the last week over the hiring of Mel Gibson for a key cameo as a tattoo artist in the Bangkok-set sequel to the surprise comedy hit "The Hangover," and his subsequent swift booting from the role, following protests by the cast and crew, in favor of the more stable, less repellent Liam Neeson, one thing's been forgotten: were the poor little racist's feelings hurt by the controversy? The answer, unsurprisingly, is yes.
