Funny that with a cast that already includes the likes of Tommy Lee Jones, Meryl Streep, Hilary Swank, John Lithgow, and Tim Blake Nelson, it took adding Hailee Steinfeld to really set the tone for this project. Jones’ self-directed “The Homesman,” about an outlaw (Jones again) who teams up with a school-teacher (Swank) to escort three mentally unstable women from Nebraska to Iowa during the pioneer era, is suddenly reminding us of “True Grit” in a lot of ways -- the similar time period, the on-the-road premise, the volatile traveling companions -- and we like it.

Tim Blake Nelson has always been a talent equally as adept on-screen as he is behind the camera -- putting his stamp on such diverse films as WWII drama “The Grey Zone” and pot comedy “Leaves of Grass” -- but as his primary focus and the majority of his credits remains acting-based, he's now found back-to-back roles in the ambitious directorial efforts of his fellow peers.

That's probably the line reps for Tommy Lee Jones' brewing sophomore directorial effort "The Homesman" will be spinning when they shop the movie at the upcoming American Film Market, and yes, Meryl Streep and Hilary Swank are part of the package for the movie they are hoping will lure investors, reports The Wrap.

While recent clips for the upcoming sequel “Men In Black III” continue to lead us to believe it was nothing but a giant payday for all involved, actor Tommy Lee Jones is always reliable, even with the treacle-filled trailer for his co-starring role with Meryl Streep in “Hope Springs” showing he’s willing to step outside his comfort zone so late in his career to bring some laughs.
