Another day, another casting change on "The Iceman." The film, which was originally set to star James Franco, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Shannon has dropped the first two actors on the way to filming, and has now lost one more esteemed thesp, with another random choice filling in to fill out this pretty bizarre cast.

Chris Evans has had a wonky year to say the least. While he led the blockbuster hit "Captain America: The First Avenger," his ventures outside the comic book movie were less successful. The gritty drama "Puncture" didn't quite catch on and the less said about "What's Your Number" the better. While he's certainly proven himself as a superhero (more than once thanks to the "Fantastic Four" films), he's still establishing himself as a serious actor, though this next project could find him flexing his thespian skills, instead of his biceps.

And the casting rollercoaster for the forever-developing "The Iceman" continues. At one time set to star the trio of James Franco, Benicio Del Toro and Michael Shannon, the first two actors have since moved on, and just a couple weeks ago the future of the project was being called into question. Well have no fear, Ross from "Friends" is here to save the day.

With his busy schedule taking him between classrooms, art galleries, movie sets and TV studios, even the multitasking James Franco can't do it all.

Also Says That Crime Film 'The Iceman' & James Franco's 'As I Lay Dying' Aren't Happening Any Time Soon We have to confess, when considering the possibilities as to who might end up playing villain General Zod in Zack Snyder's Superman reboot "Man of Steel," Michael Shannon was never on our list. Not that he's not a fine actor -- he's one of the finest out there right now, one who goes from strength to strength with seemingly every performance. And not that he's resisted studio fare in the past -- indeed, he'll be playing a villain in the Joseph Gordon-Levitt vehicle "Premium Rush" at the start of next year. It's more that Shannon's particular brand of bug-eyed crazy is so very different from the steely fascism embodied by Terence Stamp in the character's last big-screen appearance in "Superman II."

Don't be confused. This isn't the film about the same guy -- mob hitman Richard Kulinski -- that Mickey Rourke was linked to earlier in the fall. Instead, this one is based off the biography by Anthony Bruno and it has attracted some strong names to the project.
