In case you’re anxiously awaiting the Tom Hooper-helmed feature adaptation of “Les Misérables,” a new photo has dropped showing a rather angry looking Jean Valjean (Hugh Jackman) getting a little rough with Fantine (Anne Hathaway) – who looks eerily reminicient of a similarly balding Natalie Portman in “V For Vendetta.” Anyways, “Les Miserables” follows ex-prisoner Jean Valjean, who is ruthlessly hunted by policeman Javert (Russell Crowe) after he breaks parole. Valjean agrees to care for the factory worker Fantine’s young daughter, Cosette (Amanda Seyfried) – and oh, did we mention there is a TON of singing? The film drops just in time for the holidays on December 14th, and we’re interested to see if Hooper can bring this sweeping musical to the cinematic landscape successfully.

The summer movie seasons is pretty much wrapped up, with the Venice Film Festival kicking off this week, and Telluride and Toronto just around the corner. And as ever, the fall festival season sees us move away from superheroes and the like for a few blessed months, in favor of some fare that's a little more adult, and geared with an eye towards awards.

We've seen a few Spanish language spots for Juan Antonio Bayona's "The Impossible" but none have landed with quite the impact (forgive the pun) for the latest domestic spot, one that makes a serious case that we could be looking at an Oscar contender here. Certainly, Summit hopes so.

Juan Antonio Bayona has looked like a serious talent ever since his top-notch ghost story "The Orphanage" premiered at Cannes in 2007. Five years later, we're finally getting a follow-up from the Spanish director, with his much-anticipated and long-in-the-works tsunami drama "The Impossible" selected to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. And some new pictures have debuted, showing Ewan McGregor and Naomi Watts, along with their children, as a couple torn apart by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami in the Indian Ocean.

With production on the film beginning way, way back in 2010, we've been starting to get a little worried about "The Orphanage" director Juan Antonio Bayona's "The Impossible." But with a lengthy post-production required for the special effects work, we got our first taste of the film in December with a promising teaser followed up this spring with a full trailer -- could the movie now be Oscar bound?

With "The Dark Knight Rises" around the corner, lensing on his directorial debut "Don Jon's Addiction" underway and "Looper" and "Lincoln" due to be unveiled this fall, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is up for quite the year. And there's one lesser, JGL-starring vehicle that's certainly making the most of his presence: David Koepp's"Premium Rush," which now has a fresh new poster. The film looks, at best, like a fun little thriller, and sees the actor play a bike messenger who gets hold of a the wrong package with Michael Shannon on his tail. The film hits theaters on August 24th.

One of the best horror-esque ghost story films of the previous decade was Juan Antonio Bayona's "The Orphanage," likely because it was much more than your average, spooks-in-the-attic horror, and was a rich and emotionally textured drama just as much as it was a classic ghost tale. It instantly made Bayona, a protege of Guillermo del Toro, one to watch.

It's nearly five years since we heard a peep from Juan Antonio Bayona, the Spanish helmer who made such a splash with his Guillermo del Toro-produced debut "The Orphanage," one of the most commandingly made and effective horror films of the last couple decades.
