Where is Rosamund Pike finding the time? Fresh off of “Jack Reacher,” the actress is busy filming a significant role in Edgar Wright’s final instalment in the jokingly monikered ‘Blood and Ice Cream’ trilogy, “The World’s End.” Once she’s wrapped on that she’ll be reuniting with Simon Pegg on the set of “Hector and the Search for Happiness,” and she’s also attached to Stephen Brown’s “The Sea.” But not content with that busy schedule (and likely happy to capitalise on a sudden resurgence in popularity), Pike has added another project in the form of Pascal Chaumeil’s English-language debut “A Long Way Down.”

Sometimes as a project moves along, casting is changed for a variety of reasons, and sometimes filmmakers have to settle on someone who maybe isn't as enticing as their choice. However, for the upcoming adaptation of Nick Hornby's "A Long Way Down," that isn't the case.

Rising starlet Imogen Poots has joined the film adaptation of Nick Hornby's novel "A Long Way Down," which has Pascal Chaumeil at the helm. She'll star along side Toni Collette, Pierce Brosnan and Emile Hirsch, who previously joined the tale of four disparate individuals who meet one another on a London rooftop on New Year's Eve, all with the same intention to commit suicide. Instead of jumping, these complete strangers make a pact to stay alive and stay together until at least Valentine's Day. Lensing begins this September in London from a script by Jack Thorne, whose debut film "The Scouting Book For Boys" earned major praise.

Emile Hirsch certainly isn't predictable. The actor has vacillated from indie to movies to blockbusters to everything in between and you only have to look at recent batch of films -- "Killer Joe," "The Darkest Hour," "Savages" -- to realize that he moves very much to the beat of his own drum. So a movie based on a book by "High Fidelity" and "About A Boy" writer Nick Hornby? Why the hell not?

Toni Collette is deservedly on a roll, adding two more roles to his busy schedule after already booking a gig earlier this week opposite Steve Carell in "The Way, Way Back," the directorial debut for "The Descendants" screenwriters Jim Rash and Nat Faxon. Joining Jennifer Aniston, Collete is looking to co-star in Paul Andrew Williams' melodrama "Miss You Already" and will also feature in Pascal Chaumeil's dark comedy "The Long Way Down."
