It shouldn’t have been a surprise, but “The Hunger Games” not only fell from the top spot after four weeks… it was pulverized. The Steve Harvey-powered “Think Like a Man” took advantage of a big ad campaign to debut to unprecedented numbers, scoring massive 'A' level approval from audiences reporting to Cinemascore while almost tripling its reported $12 million budget. This is the third big hit for Sony’s Screen Gems division this year, following “Underworld: Awakening” and “The Vow.” Not really the best studio to encourage, guys.

Spring is here, folks! New love and life are upon us now that the dreary, ice-cold fingers of winter have withdrawn. Loosely translated into the logic of releasing films, this means documentaries and romance melodramas abound! They pop up from studios like daisies from freshly hoed lawns. Head to theaters this weekend and take in the sweet love of soldiers, vampires, Rastafarians, and even chimpanzees. And don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers on your way.

OH GOOD. ANOTHER MOVIE BASED ON A NICHOLAS SPARKS BOOK.  The man who has made a career and a fortune out of mining the same plot over and over and over again and is responsible for movies like "Dear John," "Nights In Rodanthe," "A Walk To Remember," "Message In A Bottle" and yes, "The Notebook," is back with "The Lucky One." Which is probably a not-so veiled reference to his success.
