At 65 years old, you might think that Arnold Schwarzenegger might want to look to other things to do besides clinging to the fading glory of his action hero past. No one cared about "The Last Stand," and just like every other Expendable, audiences only want to see those old dudes team up, not on their own (theaters were pretty much empty for Sylvester Stallone's "Bullet To The Head"). But it seems Arnie is trying to put his physique to use while he still can, this time rebooting a franchise that no one is really eager to reboot.

In the spring of 2010, a not-so-brilliant, hare-brained idea was announced: a remake of Troma Entertainment's campy, super low-budget, sex-filled 1984 B-movie (or is that Z-movie?) "The Toxic Avenger." With genius Akiva Goldsman ("I Am Legend," "Mr. & Mrs. Smith"), on board, the reconstituted idea was to make a family friendly pro-environment PG-13 movie. And who better to front the green movement than a deformed mop-wielding superhero from New Jersey?

If at first you don't succeed, try try again. And in the case of Troma's "The Toxic Avenger," they are yet again trying to find a way to make the trashy '80s guilty pleasure culturally relevant. If you remember, there was a failed cartoon series on Fox in 1991, and if you think back really hard, you might even recall seeing the Toxie action figure in the sea of Ninja Turtle and X-Men toys. Well, as first reported last spring, producer Akiva Goldsman has the bright idea to just reboot the whole thing for a PG-13 feature.
