The Two Faces Of January
On paper, there are any number of reasons to be excited for "The Two Faces of January," which screens during the Berlin Film Festival this week. The three leads, Kirsten Dunst, Viggo Mortensen and Oscar Isaac are all actors we admire, the director may be a first-timer in this role, but Hossein Amini is the high-profile screenwriter of "Drive" and "Snow White and the Hunstman" and, beyond that, it's based on the novel by Patricia Highsmith, whose books have previously yielded such films as "The Talented Mr Ripley," "Strangers on a Train," and the underseen "Ripley's Game."

The Two Faces Of January Oscar Isaac
With Steven Soderbergh’s TV series project “The Knick” getting closer to production, music composer Cliff Martinez has recently revealed in an interview with Lost in the Multiplex that he’s been tapped to score the upcoming Cinemax show. Martinez has been a frequent collaborator of Soderbergh’s, tuning up ten movies to date (they last worked together on 2011’s “Contagion”). This would actually wind up being the second time Cliff Martinez provided a score for a TV show, the first being an episode of "Pee Wee’s Playhouse" over 25 years ago.

Bet you forgot all about this one. Don't worry, so did we. First announced just over a year ago, "The Two Faces Of January" has some very strong talent behind it. First off, it's got a script by "Drive" writer Hossein Amini, and second Viggo Mortensen -- who is pickier than a five-year-old at a salad bar -- signed on to star. And then? Nothing. Financing was needed. But it looks like things are starting to happen, as casting is gearing up again with a start date now in sight.

If you asked to us to find two talented people to get together to take on an adaptation of a Patricia Highsmith novel, we couldn't do much better than pairing Viggo Mortensen with "Drive" writer Hossein Amini. Well, it looks like that lightbulb went off in somebody's head because 24 Frames reports that's exactly what's happening, as the duo are developing a big screen take on "The Two Faces of January."
