This past weekend, two pricey fantasy epics hit movie screens in the form of Warner Bros.' swords-and-sandal sequel "Wrath Of The Titans" and Relativity's comic fairy tale "Mirror Mirror." And while their audiences were, in theory, different (with Tarsem's Snow White picture skewing much younger), neither fared as well as hoped, "Wrath of the Titans" ending up with barely half of the original film's opening weekend, around $35 million, while "Mirror Mirror" failed to clear the $20 million mark, despite the presence of Julia Roberts.

We'll just get this out of the way now: sorry, there is no three boobed lady to be seen in the new trailer for the "Total Recall" remake. That said, there is a white haired John Cho, lots of panoramic CGI stuff and enough impressive moments to make this a curiosity we guess.

Let's just get this out of the way: this new trend of teasers for trailers is the fucking worst. But if you're gonna do it, then we at least have to tip our hat to Sony for doing it right. Forgoing the laughable ten-second treatment that usually seems to be the route these things follow, this thirty-second look at "Total Recall" at least offers up a decent amount of footage.

It's going to be a competitive summer for everyone, as we've detailed in the past, but few films have a tougher fight ahead of them than Sony's "Total Recall." A remake of the Arnold Schwarzenegger action sci-fi picture that's beloved by geeks everywhere, the new version has exchanged visionary helmer Paul Verhoeven for the much less popular Len Wiseman ("Underworld," "Live Free and Die Hard"), and toplines the still-unproven-as-a-box-office-draw Colin Farrell, rather than Arnie. Not to mention it's going head to head at the box office with "The Bourne Legacy," which is after an identical demographic.

On Saturday at the New York Comic-Con, Sony promised a panel dedicated to “Ghost Rider: Spirit Of Vengeance.” But in a bit of a surprise, they gave fans a first look at two other upcoming genre films on their slate. This being Comic-Con, people expected a glimpse of “The Amazing Spider-Man.” But aside from a stuffed mannequin hanging upside down on the showroom floor, promotion for the upcoming superhero tentpole was completely absent. Instead, Sony, gave us a Len Wiseman horror show.

Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale & Bryan Cranston Talk Remaking A Wacko Sci-Fi ClassicAfter "30 Minutes or Less" at yesterday's Columbia panel at Comic-Con 2011, "Total Recall" stars Colin Farrell, Jessica Biel, Kate Beckinsale, Bryan Cranston and director Len Wiseman took the stage to show footage and field questions from the audience. “We’re halfway through shooting so we don’t have enough to put together a trailer, but I know not seeing something is a big bummer. So it’s the first sequence we shot; it’s a scene, it’s very rough, and it’s cut together with a lot of pre-vis.” Although he was certainly correct that the footage was incomplete, it clearly echoed the early sequence from the 1990 film where Arnold Schwarzenegger, as Doug Quaid, visited Rekall in order to have a memory implanted, only to awaken to an entirely different reality.

Yep, so the guy who directed two "Underworld" movies and "Live Free or Die Hard" is being given the keys to the "Total Recall" reboot/remake, and if Len Wiseman screws the pooch, it won't be for a lack of having a decent cast.
