Clifton Collins Jr. is one of those reliable character actors who sometimes get taken for granted, but who can pretty much do it all. There's a reason directors like J.J. Abrams ("Star Trek"), Edgar Wright ("Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World"), Jim Sheridan ("Brothers"), Bennett Miller ("Capote"), Terrence Malick (his upcoming music scene movie if he doesn't get cut) and more have called on him, and how he's lining up a role in one of next year's most exciting, mysterious projects.

If there has been an unofficial rabbit's foot in Christopher Nolan's last run of films, it would have to be Cillian Murphy. The actor has appeared in all three "The Dark Knight" films, as well as "Inception," and now he's moving sideways into the directorial of Wally Pfister...produced by none other than Nolan himself.

Hey wait, shouldn't this be: Morgan Freeman joins Christopher Nolan's "Interstellar"? What gives? At any rate, Nolan is producing Wally Pfister's directorial debut, and it seems it's all about keeping it in the family.

While her sister was the one rumored for a part last fall (that eventually went to Rebecca Hall), the equally talented Kate Mara has found herself vaulted into one of the most intriguing movies on the 2014 horizon.

Sorry Rooney Mara and Emily Blunt, this one belongs to Rebecca Hall. After being rumored alongside the actresses last fall as contenders for the female lead in Wally Pfister's "Transcendence," Hall has emerged the winner and will star alongside Johnny Depp and Paul Bettany in the mysterious movie.

Paul Bettany has had it a bit rough the past few years, famously turning down "The King's Speech" (oops) and starring in a handful of forgettable movies like the Charles Darwin flick "Creation," and stuff like "Legion" and "Priest." He had a nice turn in "Margin Call," but mostly he's been better known of late as the voice of Jarvis, Tony Stark's AI butler, in the Marvel movies. He's a talented dude who has always seemed to just keep missing a leap into bigger and better things, but now his time may have finally arrived.

Okay, so this isn't exactly news if you've been keeping up, but with Johnny Depp generally commiting to a thousand projects all at once, it can difficult to shake out his schedule. But the actor's reps have cleared his calendar and revealed the two movies that will be taking up the bulk of his time in 2013. And neither of them involve the name Jack Sparrow.

Here's an idea for 2013 -- no more tweeting awards or nominations. Seriously. This year has seen various critics guilds spend pretty much all day voting or announcing their winners on Twitter, and now the Black List has followed suit, by spending some time today tweeting (out of order, mind you) the "most liked" unmade scripts of the year. It's called a press release, guys. Anyway, they finally have revealed the full slate from top to bottom and there are some interesting titles. And why should you care? Well, movies like "Slumdog Millionaire" and "The King's Speech" once placed on here, and while the names might not be known right now, these are guys and gals who will be rising in the next few years.

While we're no closer to finding out what Christopher Nolan's next directorial project will be, a film is gearing up that is something very near; the directorial debut of Nolan's regular DoP Wally Pfister, an original sci-fi project called "Transcendence," which has already attracted some serious A-list talent in the shape of Johnny Depp, who's going to be playing the film's lead. The likes of Christian Bale, James McAvoy, Tobey Maguire, Christoph Waltz, Ewan McGregor and Tom Hardy have all been connected to the film of late, but now word's firming up on who might be joining Depp in the project.
