So, remember last week when it looked like an epic beef was developing between Micheal Bay and Guillermo Del Toro, when the former offhandedly commented on movies that were riping off "Transformers" (but didn't name "Pacific Rim" specifically) and the latter dissed the Hasbro movies for being slick car commercials? Well, it's all cool bro as Bay has officially weighed in on the matter and chastised the trades on his website for pulling a CNN and taking a leap of logic with his comments.

As you may know, this week is CinemaCon, where studios dangle shiny things in front of theater owners to soothe them, and confirm that everyone will make piles of money with the blockbusters they have on the way. Directors and stars come out with great enthusiasm, show off footage, and everyone oohs and aaahs and dreams with dollar signs in their heads. But it seems that even heading into his fourth movie, Michael Bay is a bit protective/insecure about his "Transformers" series, throwing some shade on the other robot movies out there.

Oh, Michael Bay, sometimes he makes it too easy. Whether's it's Megan Fox as April O'Neil in the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" reboot he's producing, or whatever the heck this trailer is for "Black Sails" which also bears his name, sometimes he really embraces some truly puzzling decisions all in the name of a commercial buck. And so, let's move on to "Transformers 4."

When a franchise makes a third film and it winds up making a ton of money, talk of a fourth film is inevitable even if key cast and crew members are not on board. Think about "Pirates of the Caribbean," when everyone but Johnny Depp dropped out for the fourth movie; or "Spider-Man," when complications surrounding a possible fourth movie lead to a complete reboot. So, it should come as no surprise when Shia Labeouf dropped out of the fourth "Transformers" film, eventually these actors and filmmakers want to move on to other things without having to remain committed to a franchise every other year.

While there seems to be some audience fatigue for 3D -- largely thanks to post-conversions that don't do the format justice or justify the added expense -- IMAX is the one theatrical extra most agree still provides a special experience. And particularly for films that natively use the format -- a practice slowly picking up steam -- IMAX is truly something that can't be replicated even in the most equipped home theater. And two major 2014 blockbusters are going to make that ticket price worth it.

To the delight of… well, no one really, it has been reported that Josh Duhamel may be returning for the fourth installment in the bloated “Transformers” franchise. Josh who? Exactly. The untitled “Transformers 4,” scheduled for June 2014 release, looks to retain some of its Golden Raspberry-bait magic in the form of Duhamel, who will be reprising his role as action man-in-chief William Lennox.

Even though the trailer for his upcoming "small" movie "Pain & Gain" showed us the Michael Bay we forgot about -- fun, ridiculous, over-the-top, funny -- dude has sports cars to buy, so he's dully shooting "Transformers 4" next. Sigh. And Bay has been busy over the fall, testing various young things to take roles opposite Mark Wahlberg in the movie, and now he's found his new Shia LaBeouf.

With Mark Wahlberg confirmed to lead the mega-franchise, Michael Bay started his search for the new young leads that will help the kiddies decide which toy they want most from the upcoming "Transformers 4." And it looks like a decision has been made, and no, you probably never heard of them, and shockingly, neither is a Victoria's Secret model either.

With Michael Bay busy testing young hotties to join "Transformers 4," and weaving Mark Wahlberg into the story, it looks like he's finding a way to set the story in China. Nope, it's not for creative reasons, it's for the bottom line. Mo' money, mo' problems.

"Michael Bay Testing Hot Young Actors for 'Transformers 4' Leads" reads the THR headline that spells things out: director Michael Bay is looking at attractive, fresh-faced actors to help star in his 'Transformers' quadrology. Uhh, duh? What else would he be looking at? But we're actually shocked to hear that none of them are Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Models, Super Models or Victoria Secret's Models, but hey, the day is young and there's lot of casting still to come, right?
