Gone Girl Ben Affleck
If it ain't broke... After pairing up to work with David Fincher on the scores for "The Social Network" (which won them an Oscar) and "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo" (which should've been nominated), the director is once again turning to Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross to give his next film a distinctive chill.

While David Lynch might be concerned that the current cinematic climate doesn't have room from distinctive filmmakers like him, he's found other creative outlets for his work behind the camera. He's directed ads for his own coffee line, webcasts, mini-documentaries for The Killers and a bumper for the Viennale festival. And now comes a music video for none other than Nine Inch Nails.

We haven't paid attention to the Grammys in years, mostly because it's irrelevant, these days we're barely familiar with half the nominees, and the show is usually pure tedium. (Don't even get us started on that Beach Boys tribute thing last year.) But for movie buffs looking to maintain their awards season high, yesterday's announcement of Grammy nominees did bring with it some films that are looking to collect gold from their pals in the music biz.

It was just earlier today that we were talking about how the line between movies and videogames is getting more and more blurred, and then there's this bit of news. Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor, who has already won acclaim for teaming with Atticus Ross to score the founding of Facebook in "The Social Network" and a vast murder mystery in "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," is lending his skills to the video game world.

While Trent Reznor now has an Oscar under his belt thanks to his score for "The Social Network," and looks like he'll be heading back to the Kodak Theater in February for his re-team with David Fincher on "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo," had things gone differently, the Nine Inch Nails frontman would have made his film composing debut more than a decade ago.

"The Movie With The Endless Marketing." Yeah, listen, we get it. The stories on the next effort from David Fincher seem to be endless, but when it's based one of the biggest-selling books of the last few years, promises a hard R-rated procedural in the midst of the holiday season and a potential star-making turn by Rooney Mara, it's hard not to be excited. And oh yeah, add to that a brand new score from Oscar-winning duo Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, and well, what else do you want us to do?
