Twin Peaks
Communication has proven itself somewhat scrambled lately at “Twin Peaks” HQ—or at least as mysteriously messy as befits the David Lynch/Mark Frost-created show. The occasion of a new Blu-ray box set in the works prompted rumors of Lynch shooting a new promo, a claim which Frost deemed as “baseless” and actor Ray Wise then touted as not only accurate, but already completed. Yesterday we learned from Lynch that a new Blu-ray release is in fact coming but that’s it, and now actress Sherilyn Fenn has relayed some choice memories from her two seasons with Lynch & Co.

American Hustle
The small screen continues to be a place of refuge for filmmakers looking to create work outside the tentpole-crazed studio system and the latest carpetbagger is none other than David O. Russell getting in on the action. Per Deadline, the “American Hustle” director is teaming up with “Erin Brockovich” screenwriter Susannah Grant for an untitled “upstairs/downstairs soap set at a private country club.” The show will skip the pilot season altogether and just go straight to series with a thirteen episode order from ABC. Russell and Grant broke the show’s story together but actual scripting duties will fall to Grant. The show will presumably air next fall.

Twin Peaks
When word emerged earlier this month that David Lynch was shooting a new promo for a forthcoming "Twin Peaks" box set, it seemed everyone had an opinion on how true those reports were. The show's co-creator Mark Frost called it "another strange baseless rumor," while Ray Wise (aka Leland Palmer) told Fangoria that there was indeed more coming from the cult show. “Yeah, we [shot the promo for the Blu-ray] two days ago,” he told the horror magazine. “It’s been done. I don’t know if I was supposed to leak that to anybody, but yeah, we did it and I’m not at liberty to say what was done. I can say that it’s going to be a big surprise.” Well, it's certainly a surprise no more.

Babylon Brit Marling James Nesbitt
Ranked in the top five of our 20 Most Anticipated TV Shows Of 2014, we could spend a long time explaining the various minor reasons why "Babylon" is one we're eagerly anticipating, but we'll just get to the point with two words: Danny Boyle. Yep, the filmmaker behind "Trainspotting," "127 Hours," "Slumdog Millionaire" and more is bringing his usually kinetic energy to the small screen, and we have to say, it looks fantastic.

Hannibal
By any rational thought process, there was no reason to expect NBC's "Hannibal" to be any good. After all, how could they bring to the small screen one of pop culture's most fearsome killers, especially within the constraints of network television? But color us surprised that the first season was mostly terrific. Yes, the killer-of-the-week setup is easily the weakest link in "Hannibal," but we're willing to overlook when the writing is this good, the performances this top shelf (yep, Mads Mikkelsen is totally perfect in the part) and that season one cliffhanger? Damn... Needless to stay we're stoked to see what's next.

True Detective
"You're looking for narrative, [you] interrogate witnesses, personal evidence, establish a timeline, build a story, day after day..." the weary Martin Hart (Woody Harrelson) lays bare about his job. That's right, we're only in the second episode of "True Detective," and already the grind of the work comes to bear on both Hart and Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey). And for the pair, the routine of police work is the source of pain and salvation...sometimes both.

Girls
"I always have terrible birthdays, it's kind of my thing," Hannah (Lena Dunham) tells Adam (Adam Driver) in "She Said OK," the third episode of "Girls" season 3. And with her 25th birthday celebration taking center stage for the bulk of the episode's running time, there is certainly an argument to be made that things could've gone better. But as things kick off, it's not Hannah's life that is thrown into turmoil and/or unexpected change, but those of Adam, Marnie (Allison Williams) and Ray (Alex Karpovsky).
