David Lynch
Laura Dern gave David Lynch fans hope last month. "I will be working with David Lynch when I'm 80. He is cooking up trouble, and I will be part of that trouble," Dern enthusiastically said in June of the fabled director who had previously claimed to have largely retired from filmmaking. "He's the consummate renaissance man, he just makes art wherever he can get his hands on it. But film, ultimately, I know is his great love, and I think he will always circle back to it. He's definitely cooking."

Twin Peaks
If "Twin Peaks" escaped your attention in the '90s, there's probably no better time to reacquainted with it, with a brand new box set arriving at the of the month. Teasingly titled "Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery," it's a comprehensive collection of everything you need including the prequel movie "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me" but perhaps most enticingly, 90 minutes of extensive deleted and extended scenes. Basically, a lot of stuff was left on the cutting room floor, and with people now digging into advance copies, we're learning more about the surprises that await within. And obviously, spoilers ahead.

Listen, we get it, there is already enough new stuff on TV to deal with, that the thought of catching up with something you missed (or watched already) the first time around seems a bit daunting. But we're pretty sure you'll want to square away a rainy weekend this summer and get to know "Twin Peaks" all over again.

Twin Peaks
He might not be showing any signs of returning to filmmaking, preferring to focus on releasing music and tutoring Louie in how to host a late-night show, but that doesn't mean David Lynch has given up entirely. The director's been intimately involved with the new Blu-ray set for his seminal and hugely influential TV show "Twin Peaks," which hits at the end of July, and the first fruits of that are starting to appear online.

For a brief moment in the early 1990s, David Lynch was arguably at the most popular height of his career, captivating TV audiences who tuned in with this perfectly odd and surreal "Twin Peaks." It's hard to believe a show like that ever got greenlit, let alone nearly twenty years ago when network TV was still king of the hill. Hell, even "The Simpsons" referenced it. But after two seasons and a movie it was over, leaving fans to puzzle forever over its mysteries. But they're about to get a whole lot more.

Sure, he's best known for his catalog of distinct, surreal and terrifying pictures, but David Lynch is a man of many artistic hats. He's a painter, musician, weatherman, coffee enthusiast, transcendental meditation advocate, nightclub entrepreneur and more. But sometimes you need a bit of pocket cash as you jump from endeavor to endeavor, and like so many before (and after) him, Lynch has sometimes found his working on commercials.

Twin Peaks
Communication has proven itself somewhat scrambled lately at “Twin Peaks” HQ—or at least as mysteriously messy as befits the David Lynch/Mark Frost-created show. The occasion of a new Blu-ray box set in the works prompted rumors of Lynch shooting a new promo, a claim which Frost deemed as “baseless” and actor Ray Wise then touted as not only accurate, but already completed. Yesterday we learned from Lynch that a new Blu-ray release is in fact coming but that’s it, and now actress Sherilyn Fenn has relayed some choice memories from her two seasons with Lynch & Co.

Twin Peaks
When word emerged earlier this month that David Lynch was shooting a new promo for a forthcoming "Twin Peaks" box set, it seemed everyone had an opinion on how true those reports were. The show's co-creator Mark Frost called it "another strange baseless rumor," while Ray Wise (aka Leland Palmer) told Fangoria that there was indeed more coming from the cult show. “Yeah, we [shot the promo for the Blu-ray] two days ago,” he told the horror magazine. “It’s been done. I don’t know if I was supposed to leak that to anybody, but yeah, we did it and I’m not at liberty to say what was done. I can say that it’s going to be a big surprise.” Well, it's certainly a surprise no more.

Twin Peaks
While those rumors a year ago of a possible third season of David Lynch's cult classic TV series "Twin Peaks" were debunked as quickly as they came forward, it appears that the director/creator isn't done with Laura Palmer just yet. It looks like we'll all have a reason return to Twin Peaks soon.
