The 2015 Best Picture Contenders, Premature pics
The star of "Ghosts Of Girlfriends Past" and the singer from 30 Seconds Of Mars are Oscar winners, "12 Years A Slave" beat "Gravity," Adele Tazeem became the most famous non-existent person on the planet, and no one's stopped talking about selfies for about 72 hours. The streets of LA are now full of discarded The Weinstein Company interns, who haven't seen daylight for months and are only capable of saying the words "Everything you are and everything you have is 'cos of that butler." Yep, the 2013/2014 awards season has come to an end.

Unbroken
While he didn't take home any medals, Olympian Louis Zamperini was fast enough that, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics, Adolf Hitler requested a meeting. But a few years later, Zamperini would find his mettle tested in ways he never imagined. And Angelina Jolie will tell his tale.

'71 Jack O'Connell
It’s February 2014 and it’s more than likely that, if you live in America, you’d have a hard time picking Jack O’Connell out of a line-up. But by year’s end we’ll wager that will have changed as by then, if there’s any justice in the world both “Starred Up” the fantastic prison drama that we caught in Goteborg, and “‘71” which has proven one of the biggest hits of the Berlinale will have made it across the Atlantic, to be followed by “Unbroken” the Angelina Jolie-directed bestseller adaptation that has “prestige project” and “potential award magnet” writ large on it already. And that’s not even mentioning an abs-bearing, sword-brandishing role in the “300” sequel. Once all of this exposure hits, O’Connell may feel like an overnight sensation, but as the 23-year-old reminded us during our very enjoyable Berlinale interview, he’s been at this for nearly a decade now.

Madame Bovary Mia Wasikowska
The American Film Market kicks off next week, which means there's going to be a lot of buyers hustling a lot of movies, and distributors and financiers look for product to put their cash into. And that means folks writing the cheques will want to see something first. And since many of these movies are mid-production or just getting started, pictures will have to suffice.

Will smith
Roland Emmerich may be preparing for the worst with two versions of “Independence Day 2” (one with Will Smith and one without) but at least one thing remains clear: the “After Earth” star hasn't grown sick yet of the sci-fi genre with a newly announced project on his plate., while elsewhere Tim Roth and Gérard Depardieu plan to delve into soccer's behind-the-scenes dealings and Michael K. Williams switches sides of the law.

Hugh Jackman
For up-and-coming screenwriter Aaron Berg his first screenplay sale couldn't have gone any better. His script, titled "Section 6," sparked a bidding war, with Universal nabbing the rights and paying a cool $1.2 million for his thriller that "follows the World War I-era formation of British intelligence agency MI6 and its first director, Sir George Mansfield Cummings, who served as the inspiration for M in the 'James Bond' series." With a logline like that, it's no wonder that Hugh Jackman has taken a look at the material, while Justin Lin and Brett Ratner have also shown an interest as directors. No one is formally attached yet, but it's safe to say this one is going to get some major talent.

While James McTeigue for a moment seemed like the next great blockbuster hopeful following "V For Vendetta," the diminishing returns of "Ninja Assassin" and "The Raven" have found him directing his leanest movie yet. Milla Jovovich, Pierce Brosnan, Emma Thompson and Angela Bassett will star in "Survivor," a thriller that'll shoot in January.

Reese Witherspoon
After a stint working on indie movies with Jeff Nichols' "Mud" opening earlier this year, Atom Egoyan's "The Devil's Knot" hitting the festival circuit, and Paul Thomas Anderson's "Inherent Vice" probably landing sometime next year, the actress is going back to making movies that will pay the bills. She's headed to Disney to make the fairy tale comedy, "Happily Ever After."

It looks like Garrett Hedlund is becoming the next Coen Brothers player. Sort of. The actor of course features in their funny, lovely and melancholy "Inside Llewyn Davis," and in case you forgot, the sibling duo have also taken their pen to Angelina Jolie's next directorial effort "Unbroken." Do you see where this is going?
