It's safe to say at this point that we're looking forward to Wes Anderson's "Moon Rise Kingdom" as much as anything else that's coming out in 2012. The "Rushmore" helmer, one of the most important voices to appear in American film in the last couple of decades, had shown signs of ossifying with the misfires "The Life Aquatic" and "The Darjeeling Limited," and it didn't help that film festivals were suddenly inundated with streams of poor quality Anderson knock-offs. But 2009's animated excursion "Fantastic Mr. Fox" turned out to be the director's best work in years, and early word suggests that he's edging out of his comfort zone for his next picture.

Heralded Music Supervisor Says Favorite Wes Anderson Film Is 'Life Aquatic' & Yes, He's Already At Work On 'Moon Rise Kingdom'Richard Linklater was a no-show to his SXSW conversation with celebrated music supervisor Randall Poster -- bummer -- (they've worked together on "The School of Rock," "Before Sunrise" and "SubUrbia" which members of Sonic Youth did some uncredited musical score work on). But Poster soldiered on with Graham Reynolds, the composer currently working on Linklater's next picture, the West Texas-set black comedy, "Bernie," starring Jack Black and Matthew McConaughey.

Lists are subjective. That's the joy of them, to some degree -- you get to see the tastes of others, and hopefully pick up a few tips for things you may have overlooked. And you're never going to find a list that you agree with 100%, particularly when the stakes are bigger -- lists of 'greatest films' or 'greatest directors' are a veritable minefield of disputes and feuds. But that doesn't change the fact that some lists are just dumb.

Actor Says No, Then Yes, Then Backpedals To A "You Never Know" With A WinkWes Anderson's upcoming '60s-set movie "Moon Rise Kingdom" was announced earlier this year, and apart from Bill Murray, none of the regular Anderson players (Jason Schwartzman, Angelica Huston, Owen and Luke Wilson) were mentioned as part of the cast. Instead a new group of actors, including Bruce Willis, Edward Norton, Frances McDormand and Tilda Swinton were reported to be in negotiations for the film centering on two young adults who fall in love and run away in a New England town.

Bogdanovich Has Also Finished Screenplay For 'Turn Of The Century'So yes, we're on IndieWire now, which technically means that director and Hollywood encyclopedia Peter Bogdanovich is our colleague (in case you didn't know, he's got a blog), but though we have yet to run into him by the water cooler and ask him if he saw "The Office" last night, it might be because he's been busy working on a couple of new films.
