Premiering last year in the midst of the always busy and expansive Toronto International Film Festival, Nenad Cicid-Sain's directorial debut "The Time Being" may have a flown a bit under the radar. But the talent and premise are intriguing enough that it could be a good option against the emptier fare at your local multiplex this weekend.

Okay, we get it. If you want to make an original sci-fi movie these days—or an original anything—you need to cast big name stars to convince studios to part with their cash. So, Christopher Nolan has done just that, lining up Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, Michael Caine, Anne Hathaway, Casey Affleck, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn and John Lithgow to star in "Interstellar." All people we love too, so yeah sounds awesome. Then he started filling out the supporting cast with some...interesting...choices including "Twilight" actress Mackenzie Foy, "Homeland" actor Timothee Chalamet and "That '70s Show" guy Topher Grace. It's all looking pretty monochromatic here, and that's not changing.

Wes Bentley is an interesting (and dreamy) guy. Breaking out of nowhere as Ricky, the stoner-cum-video-artist next door in “American Beauty”, Bentley was suddenly a big part of an absolutely huge movie. The resultant pressure led to a 10-year addiction to heroin, a consequently cratering career and a series of rock bottoms, chronicled in Tony Zierra's utterly fascinating documentary “My Big Break.” Bentley has been crawling out of hell for a while now, via various dreadful staging posts (“Ghost Rider," “Jonah Hex," “Gone”), and last year finally caught a break as Gamesmaker Seneca Crane in “The Hunger Games," twirling his goatee in Machiavellian style.

So, the Academy Award nominated editor of Cameron Crowe's "Almost Famous" and Terrence Malick's "The Thin Red Line" is making his directorial debut with "Things People Do." Pretty cool, but not much else, right? Well, peer a little close and you'll see a number of connections to Malick and more, making this a fascinating collection of talent for a movie with some pretty decent promise. So, let's dive right in.

Aksel Hennie was the star of one of last year’s biggest foreign language hits, “Headhunters,” and he’s since cashed in by securing a supporting role in Brett Ratner’s “Hercules” alongside Dwayne Johnson. But Hennie’s next project is "Pioneer," another Norwegian effort from the same production company behind "Headhunters," an '80s-set conspiracy thriller set to the backdrop of the Norwegian Oil Boom.

Latino Review continues their run of comic movie rumorin'. Today's rumor du jour involves the good folks at that site revealing that producers of 2015's planned "Justice League" movie have nailed down a cast of characters for the film, and are limiting the famously huge roster to five core members. We always knew Superman and Batman would be a part of the group, having their own separate franchises with this year's "Man Of Steel" and a possibly forthcoming "The Batman" on it's way. But who would join them?

One of the most enticing, if unknown prospects at the Sundance Film Festival (and one we think could spark a distributor bidding war) is "Lovelace" from "Howl" directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman. And while there has been a lot of pictures and print about the movie thus far, the first clip has arrived to give a small taste of what's to come.

It seems the Terrence Malick news train just can't be stopped today. Following reports that "Badlands" is headed to The Criterion Collection and "To The Wonder" has finally been picked up for U.S. distribution by Magnolia, now a movie that the very busy auteur is producing has added two very notable names to the cast.
