In case you were worried about the continuity of the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, never fear: Ving Rhames will be back once again for "Mission: Impossible 5." Director Christopher McQuarrie confirmed the actor's return on Twitter, with Rhames reprising his Luther Stickell role.

In the canon of remakes-that-are-taking-forever-to-get-made, "Westworld" would be up there. The project is slowly developing for years and never quite getting anywhere, but last year J.J. Abrams and Jonah Nolan signed up to produce the movie for HBO, with the latter writing the script and directing the pilot. Well, it seems it's a step closer to happening as offers are now out for actors to fill the roles of the futuristic flick about robots run amok.

It seems in the dark and frightening world of sci-fi franchise extensions and do-overs, they will all belong to J.J. Abrams. With feet planted both in "Star Trek" and "Star Wars," it looks like Abrams is putting his name to another vintage era movie, and this time bringing it to the small screen.
