Emma Watson While We're Young
While we're still awaiting our Slut & The Falcon spinoff, we're just glad that Emma Watson and director Stephen Chbosky aren't waiting too long to work together and delivering last year's hugely enjoyable and somewhat underrated "Perks Of Being A Wallflower." It was the rare teen movie that got those years right, with lots of humor and heart as well, and now the pair are going to try something both youthful and a bit different.

While Vince Vaughn is best known for his motormouth in a wide array of comedies, he's been desperate to do something a bit more gritty. Over the past while, he's been lining up no shortage of more serious-minded fare like the the thriller "The Risk Agent," the Randall Wallace-penned "Gunslingers" and road adventure "Triple Time." But it looks like another project has the momentum to cast the actor in a whole new light.

Casting: David Fincher's 'Gone Girl' Has "Blurred Lines," 'Madding Crowd' Gets Bigger & More

It seems that "Blurred Lines" isn't going away anytime soon, and either getting in on the zeitgeist or (much more likely) sensing some potential, David Fincher is borrowing from the pop culture phenomenon. Seen topless throughout the unrated video of the Robin Thicke hit, model-actress Emily Ratajkowski has joined "Gone Girl." The adaptation of Gillian Flynn's novel already has a fairly bonkers supporting cast that includes Tyler Perry, Neil Patrick Harris, Patrick Fugit and Kim Dickens, alongside the two leads, Ben Affleck and Rosamund Pike.

Coming hot on the heels of his admission that he had been offered (and subsequently turned down) the role of a big time bad guy in one of the Marvel extravaganzas, Deadline is reporting that Alec Baldwin is actually accepting a role, in a much more modest project: the new Cameron Crowe movie the filmmaker is about to start shooting for Sony. In other casting news, charming grouch Charles Grodin will make his long awaited return to movies, playing Naomi Watts' father in Noah Baumbach's "While We're Young" (according to the Wrap). This is a very exciting day for aging character actors.

Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock)
It's been just over a year since the sad and tragic passing of Beastie Boys' member Adam Yauch (aka MCA), and it looks like the rest of his bandmates are preparing to get creative again. Earlier today, Rolling Stone revealed their interview Mike D (aka Michael Diamond) talking about his recent experience scoring the Paris Fashion Week presentation of Kenzo's 2014 Spring/Summer Collection (a gig he took at the insistence of Spike Jonze). Meanwhile, Ad-Rock (aka Adam Horovitz) scored a short documentary for the New York Times last fall, but is now ready to see if he can drop dialogue as hot as he can drop some rhymes.

The thoroughly complete hoodwinking that Noah Baumbach pulled with his shot-on-the-sly Greta Gerwig vehicle, “Frances Ha,” has meant a celebration of the director’s rejuvenated style, and an even more fierce inquiry into what he’s hiding next. Apart from his color companion piece to “Frances Ha,” there’s the long-gestating Ben Stiller comedy “While We’re Young," which recently snagged Adam Driver and Naomi Watts for its cast, and now, it appears, will add one more.

Pretty soon, we're going to have to stop referring to Adam Driver as that guy from "Girls." While, yes, Lena Dunham's show has put him on the broader cultural radar, he's impressed folks like Clint Eastwood ("J. Edgar"), Steven Spielberg ("Lincoln") and the Coen Brothers ("Inside Llewyn Davis") enough to land roles in their films. Another director who has happily utilized is Noah Baumbach, giving the actor a nice supporting role in the filmmaker's utterly charming and completely buoyant "Frances Ha." And now, they're going to work together again.

We recently had the good fortune to speak with filmmaker Noah Baumbach as he starts the long, winding road of press for the upcoming release of his latest film, the sublime black-and-white character piece and uproarious comedy "Frances Ha," starring Greta Gerwig (who also co-wrote the screenplay with Baumbach). During our interview, which we'll post in full closer to the film's release date, "The Squid and the Whale" director, who shot 'Frances' on the quick and quiet (hardly anyone knew it even existed until it premiered at the Telluride Film Festival last year), dished on some of his upcoming projects and it seems he's hitting a prolific stride.

Noah Baumbach Says 'The Corrections' Is Unlikely To See The Light Of Day, 'While We're Young' Won't Be Next

HBO might be turning into something of a safe haven for the kind of smart, adult programming that's increasingly rare in theaters, but not everything gets to make the cut. With shows like "True Blood" and "Game Of Thrones" becoming long-running hits, and newcomers like "Girls" and "The Newsroom" getting second season pickups, there's only so much room on the schedule, and it means that even high-profile shows aren't necessarily getting the go-ahead.

After flirting with the mainstream last year in "No Strings Attached" and "Arthur," indie darling Greta Gerwig is firmly back in her usual territory for the next couple of years: the actress will next star in Tribeca Film Festival entry "Lola Versus," has Woody Allen's "To Rome With Love" following in the summer, and just wrapped a reunion with "Greenberg" director Noah Baumbach on the pilot for the HBO adaptation of Jonathan Franzen's "The Corrections."
