It was just last week that we were discussing the ability of “Wreck-It Ralph” to end the creative slump Disney’s internal animation division has been in for over a decade ever since the ascendance of Pixar -- though the company has stumbled as of late -- and now it seems the Mouse House is doubling down on the original animated film.

Our quest to pinpoint the potential peaks and troughs of the big fall movies continues today, and after examining "Lincoln," "Flight" and "Skyfall" so far, we're moving on to the last big hitter of November (bar :"The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Pt. 2," which felt like shooting fish in a barrel) -- Walt Disney's latest 3D CGI extravaganza "Wreck-It Ralph."

While Disney has made no secret about the vintage video game/arcade leanings of their upcoming "Wreck-It-Ralph," when it comes to the first clip from the film, they are playing up the adorable elements instead to make sure seats are filled next month.

With Pixar seemingly in a slump -- “Brave” had a mixed reaction, while the less said about “Cars 2” the better -- and other animation houses releasing their own solid films (last year’s “Puss In Boots” was better than it had any right to be) could the time be right for Disney to finally release something good on their own? The upcoming video-game-set (and influenced) “Wreck-It Ralph” seems like it has as much potential as anything the Mouse House has done in recent years -- again, barring Pixar -- and the studio has now released a nifty viral video to help drum up excitement in the public (read: adult) world at large.

It's a bit of good news/bad news for Italian Robsten fans. The good news: the epic conclusion to the vampire story of our time, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn -- Part 2" will make its world premiere at the Rome Film Festival. The bad news? Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart won't be there. That red carpet just shed a single tear. But is this a sign the 'Breaking Dawn -- Part 2' press jaunt will have significantly less participation by its two leads as they work their relationship out? While the studio has insisted plans will go forth as planned, one wonders...

Could Disney deliver the inventive animated thrill we usually except from Pixar in 2012? It seems the roles between the two have been reversed because while the latter treads water and begins to lean on sequels, the former is bringing something genuinely exciting to the big screen.

Though initially low-profile on the Disney Animation release slate while ambitious in its scope, “Wreck-It Ralph” has slowly become one of the more interesting offerings on show this holiday season. Featuring a meta-video game narrative with 70+ characters shown, as well as a vibrant aesthetic that snaps attention to the screen, another compelling aspect remains the Skrillex-involved soundtrack, the details of which have just been released.

Remember the days of pumping quarters into an arcade machine, or even blowing dust off a cartridge to get it to work? Those of us of a certain age certainly do, which is what makes the prospect of the otherwise forward looking "Wreck-It-Ralph" also seem positively quaint. Combining nostalgia for video games with a pretty clever concept, the upcoming Disney movie looks to be something that will hopefully raise the bar a bit from the standard family movie sphere.

Did you spend any amount of time with original 8-bit Nintendo or Sega Master System? Do you still have up-up-down-down "Contra"-style codes memorized in your brain? Does the sight of a blue hedgehog spinning and jumping wildly through the air still get your pulse rate up? Well, this fall, the movie might be coming that's just for you as Disney will unveil their video game world set "Wreck-It-Ralph" and it looks like it's going to be both a dazzling piece of eye candy and actually entertaining (sorry, "Tron: Legacy").

It's easy to get caught up in the prestigious Oscar season, which is about to approach us and smother us all in affected British accents and stories about dysfunctional family dynamics and the power of hope (conversely we're also getting new franchise entries with big stars like Tom Cruise and Daniel Craig), so it's easy to forget about a relatively low-profile Disney Animation Studios movie like "Wreck-It Ralph." After this new trailer (courtesy of Yahoo Movies), though, it will be hard to ignore.
