X-Men: Days Of Future Past
As scandals go, Bryan Singer seems to have weathered the sexual abuse allegations aimed at him from earlier this year, rather well. In fact, because there’s been little movement on the case, most of that controversy has been forgotten. At least for now. It probably doesn’t hurt that his “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” is now the highest grossing movie of 2014 worldwide ($712 million), having surpassed “Captain America The Winter Soldier” this past weekend (and it has $11 million to go to unseat “X-Men: The Last Stand” as the highest grossing film in the series domestically). The narrative is fully on the side of all things positive. But in April, when the sex-abuse allegations were in full swing, multiple lawsuits filed and negative media attention swirling, things weren’t looking so bright for the filmmaker.

Marvel Characters That Could Be Movie
What people forget is that while the WB flexes their muscle, Marvel still has a ridiculously untapped listing of characters, both over at Disney as well as other studios like Fox, Universal and Sony.Marvel’s always going to outnumber and outmuscle them in some ways. The WB can only work on making their movies successful on their own terms.

"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" did what it was intended to: thanks to the all-star cast and surprisingly strong reviews, the film was by far the biggest hit of the series, with the film closing on $700 million worldwide, elevating it far above its predecessors, and justifying Fox's decision to spend more money on the picture than any other film except "Avatar." As such, the already-announced plans for "X-Men: Apocalypse" are moving forward at speed, and writer Simon Kinberg has just spilled some beans on it.

Marvel Vs. DC
A simple, but terrific (and possibly frightening) observation has been made by our friends over at Rope Of Silicon: over the next four years, if everything goes according to plan for every studio, we're going to see twenty-three (count ‘em) super hero films. Because, as you know, the comic book movie arms race is officially on.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Who knew, after “Iron Man” came out in 2008, that post-credit sequences would eventually be present in almost every subsequent superhero film? There used to be a time when a post-credit scene would usually be relegated to a comedy, like a Zucker-Abrams-Zucker film. Now, they’re used to parlay important information about an upcoming sequel, or in the recent case of “The Amazing Spider-Man 2,” an advertisement for a completely different franchise. “X-Men: Days of Future Past” is no stranger to this practice, and with the film creating a huge amount of buzz this past weekend, naturally its post-credit sequence has garnered quite a bit of attention as well.

Channing Tatum, Gambit
You would think that if a relatively big star like Channing Tatum would get caught up in the super hero film sweepstakes, he’d get a better character than the relatively mediocre, sub-character of Gambit from the “X-Men” comics and movies, but evidently the “Magic Mike” star just loves the character.

X-Men: Days of Future Past
"X-Men: Days Of Future Past" drops in just a couple of weeks, and right now, the folks at Fox are spending a lot days of future planning for the franchise. "X-Men: Apocalypse" is already on deck for 2016, and "The Wolverine 2" continues to develop, even as Hugh Jackman plays forever coy about whether or not it's the last time he sports the mutton chops and fangs. But the studio is certainly hoping to make it easier on the actor who has to diet like crazy to get mad ripped to play Logan.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
There's over a month still to go until "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" arrives in theatres. And because we live in the era of franchises and sequels, that means it's time to start discussing the inevitable followup, "X-Men: Apocalypse," already slated for 2016. And Singer along with producer/writer Simon Kinberg has teased some details about what to expect from the movie that will be "somewhat" based on 1990 comic run, "Age Of Apocalypse."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Marc Webb
Were it not for the encouragement of Sony chief Amy Pascal, Marc Webb revealed at SXSW last week, “The Amazing Spider-Man” and its upcoming two sequels would’ve passed right by the “(500) Days of Summer” director’s path as “the stupidest thing” he’d ever heard. As vibrant a studio playground as the Marvel franchise has been for Webb the last few years, we’ve been eager to see what he can do outside it, and now it appears he’s been having similar thoughts.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
While much of the attention in the lead up to "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" has been all about the serious number of mutants recruited for the sequel, maybe we should've been paying attention to the wardrobe. Jumping between the past and present, DOFP has given the cast plenty to play with when it comes to their look, and some of that is on full display in this new batch of images.
