X-Men Days Of Future Past
Last night, the prestigious MTV Movie Awards were handed out, but all anyone really talked about was the wealth of promos Hollywood unleashed to try and capture the critical youth demographic they'll need to turn up at the multiplex this summer. And Fox didn't waste a moment in showing off the good stuff.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past History
One of more interesting aspects of the recent X-Men cinematic saga, is how the writers have had fun in tweaking and rewriting history to include the existence of mutants. It's a thread that became prominent in "X-Men: First Class," and with the time traveling "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" on the way, it looks like more events from past (and future) are being toyed with in pretty interesting ways.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
There's over a month still to go until "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" arrives in theatres. And because we live in the era of franchises and sequels, that means it's time to start discussing the inevitable followup, "X-Men: Apocalypse," already slated for 2016. And Singer along with producer/writer Simon Kinberg has teased some details about what to expect from the movie that will be "somewhat" based on 1990 comic run, "Age Of Apocalypse."

X-Men: Days Of Future Past,
Such is the time we live in when franchises are no longer just about sequels or prequels. Spinoffs are the newest goldmine that studios are looking at, hoping to extend branding outward in a never ending reach of blockbuster moviemaking. "Cars" has begotten "Planes," Disney is already planning "Star Wars" standalone movies between the saga sequels, Sony is developing movies around the Spider-Man villains and now Fox are toying with the idea of individual X-Men movies. Because of course they are. But they've been here before.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
Evidently Bryan Singer’s “X-Men Days Of Future Past” is one of the most expensive movies 20th Century Fox has ever made. I think this is the biggest movie Fox has made that James Cameron didn’t direct,” writer/producer Simon Kinberg (“X-Men: First Class”) told Entertainment Weekly in this week’s ‘DOFP’ cover story. “We have to deliver, and that’s really hard. Plus, we don’t use guns, we use powers. The power is a visual effect. So by its very nature, it’s going to be pricey,” producer Lauren Schuler Donner added.

X-Men Days Of Future Past
Make no mistake about it, there are plenty of legitimate reasons to look forward to next month’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” There’s the huge cast that combines actors from both the original “X-Men” trilogy and the 2011 prequel and, of course, Bryan Singer is back in the director’s chair. But, would it be unreasonable to say that the marketing for the film has been a bit... uneven? First, there was the Empire Magazine character covers from earlier this year, which drew the ire of many X-Men fans, particularly with the reveal of Quicksilver with most people crying foul over how lame the character looked.

X-Men Days Of Future Past
With mutants past and present set to appear in "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," many are wondering (including us) if there's such thing as too much when it comes to the mutant franchise. "I wanted a full cast but I didn't want it to feel forced," Bryan Singer told Total Film (print edition). We wanted to make it feel organic, not take a 'kitchen sink' approach but bring together characters with interesting powers."

X-Men: Days Of Future Past
A gap across time is bridged in Bryan Singer’s latest comic book entry “X-Men: Days of Future Past," which means the director has the dominating task of doubling his cast of mutants while keeping the film narratively taut. We’ve heard of various ways he might tackle this issue, but today we’ve also got several new behind-the-scenes clips taking us deeper into the film’s dizzying timelines, locations, and approach.

Godzilla
April is here, which means blockbuster season is now just a few short weeks away (and some would argue it starts this weekend with the release of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier"). Either way, the drama of the awards season is behind us, and the special effects spectacles are ahead, with the studios doing everything they can to hook you. And that means grabbing you in the comfort of your own home with big-screen-worthy TV spots.
