X-Men 2 Anna Paquin
Even with the Avengers-izing of comic movies now de rigeur in Hollywood, it was bound to happen that with all the characters squeezed into Bryan Singer's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past," some of those cameos and appearances wouldn't make the final cut. And indeed, the first casualty from the movie has been revealed.

How The 'Avengers'-Izing Of Blockbusters Is Killing Movies
Is it enough to just make one movie anymore? In the wake of Marvel’s audacious world-building in an assembly line of completely indistinguishable adventure movies, the studios would answer no. What used to be one series of movies has become a web, one that involves various other series’ and offshoots of one particular brand.

Last week came a double whammy of news over at Fox, that was more or less an early Christmas present for comic movie fans: first, it was announced that "X-Men: Apocalypse" was set for a 2016 release date and second, it would likely be part of a Marvel-esque universe of movies writer Simon Kinberg was building. Well, today brings with it a couple more updates starting with Vulture confirming that Bryan Singer will be back in the director's chair for 'Apocalypse,' but perhaps more intriguingly, word has already surfaced on how it links to "X-Men: Days Of Future Past." Warning: MASSIVE SPOILERS AHEAD.

X-Men: Days Of Future Past,
With extensive work on Neill Blomkamp’s “Elysium” and also the upcoming “Star Wars” films as a writer, producer Simon Kinberg has locked in recently on the sci-fi/fantasy front, but those aren’t enough—comic book adaptations have found his focus as well. Next summer’s “X-Men: Days of Future Past” and the Josh Trank-directed “Fantastic Four” remake both bear his name as writer/producer, but in a new development over at 20th Century Fox, which owns both franchises, he stands to have even more of a corner on the market.

After next year's "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" which is going to be a super size smorgasboard of every character Fox seemingly has the rights too, stuffed like a Blondie sandwich into the movie, what we of course need is announcement of even more, right?

X-Men: Days Of Future Past Bent Bullet
Last Friday was the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination (check out our feature on 8 movies tackling the subject), an event that even today is a lightning rod for conspiracy hounds everywhere. Who wanted Kennedy killed? How many gunmen were there? Is the single-bullet -- aka the “Magic Bullet” -- theory really the best we could come up with? Leave it to Fox’s marketing department to weave this web of intrigue and paranoia into the world of “X-Men: Days Of Future Past.”

'X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Fassbender
Well, you gotta hand it to 20th Century Fox, they sure know how to burn their productions right down to the wire. With their mega-sized "X-Men: Days Of Future Past" slated to hit theaters in about six months, the production is going to back for reshoots, and it's not just a few days of pickups. Nope, a few weeks of additional shooting is planned in Montreal this month but that's not really the most eyebrow-raising part of all this.

Wolverine
I'm not sure what a new multi-touch eBook is or what it has to do with the upcoming Blu-ray release of "The Wolverine," but that high tech gadget contains one very interesting deleted scene that will be of particular interest to die-hard fans of the character.

Ten Onscreen Superheroes With Incredibly Uncomfortable Family Issues
This weekend sees the release of "Thor: The Dark World," which, on the surface, is just another superhero film. But, in fact, it also works as a crystallization as to what makes superheroes tick: family issues. Thor's got to save the universe, but he's also got an obnoxious brother gumming up the works, and he can never agree with his father, who is also a King. To rub it in, the sequel also seems to suggest that Mom likes Loki better. Things just aren't going Thor's way!
