'The Avengers' Continue To Blandly Stand Around In New Pics From The Superhero Film

While "John Carter" was rightly ripped for a thoroughly terrible campaign, if the geeks were being fair -- and if this wasn't an already established franchise -- they would tearing Marvel a new one over the continually dull campaign for "The Avengers." Granted, the studio probably realizes they don't really have to do anything to turn this into the mega-sized hit it will be, but trailers aside, this has been the dullest push for a superhero movie we can remember.

After recycling the same poses for an endless string of posters and banners, and dumping boring pictures of our heroes in the same dull postures in the movie online, Marvel continues to drop more images of The Avengers standing around. And now, we're getting pictures of empty rooms, too. Hooray. These pics of Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Bruce Banner and Thor (in a forest on a soundstage?) won't get your pulse racing, and the shots of their headquarters (or whatever) may put you into a coma.

The good news is, all this standing around and empty rooms is gonna be post-coverted into -- HULK SMASH -- eye melting 3D! That will make it more awesome right?!!?!?!!? "The Avengers" opens on May 4th. [ComingSoon]

Derf is with you on this one, Kevin. Avengers looks bland as shit.

Not only is it getting a time-crunched post-conversion...Whedon decided to shoot it at an EPIC HDTV FRIENDLY 1.78:1 aspect ratio!

Way to play like a television director who's too much of a pussy to fill the big screen, J-Whe.

Trailers aside? What else matters? No one goes to go to a movie because of a still picture.
