Well, we gave up on the second season of "The Killing" after being jerked around way too much by a plot that refuses to do anything, but the stars of the show don't have to worry about their Hollywood prospects. Joel Kinnaman has already popped up in a couple of movies and stars in the summer's indie rom-com "Lola Versus" and is slated to be the next "RoboCop." Meanwhile, Mirielle Enos has already bagged roles in "World War Z" with Brad Pitt and "Gangster Squad" with Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Josh Brolin, Emma Stone and a zillion other people, and now she's joining another film with an equally impressive roster.

Deadline reports Enos has come on board Canadian filmmaker Atom Egoyan's West Memphris Three drama "The Devil's Knot." Based on the book “Devil’s Knot: The True Story of the West Memphis Three,” the feature film will take a different tack than the famed "Paradise Lost" documentaries, getting out of the courtroom and taking a look at how the murder impacted the lives of those in the community. Reese Witherspoon will play Pam Hobbs, one of the mothers of the victims who eventually becomes convinced that Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin and Jessie Misskelley Jr. have been wrongly convicted. And Colin Firth is slated for the role of Ron Lax, a private investigator who worked pro bono on behalf of the West Memphis Three, and who found the DNA strand that began to suggest Terry Hobbs might have been involved in the crime. As for Enos, she'll play Vicki Hutcheson, the mother of an 8 year-old who becomes an important witness in the case.

Production is gearing up to take place this summer, and there are still a number of smaller roles to be cast.

I can't believe Witherspoon is still cast in this. Her pregnancy is going to ruin the film, IMO.

Wait, how was I being "so defensive?" I was just responding.

Holy Jesus Christ, D, stop being so defensive. It's okay to have an opinion that doesn't worship Reese Witherspoon. It gets better, I promise. You'll admit, though, if she is still pregnant it will look ridiculous. It has nothing to do with my personal feelings towards her, as I have none. My opinion is based on the fact that she is known for her celebrity status moreso then her acting or the characters she plays. If you see the actress and not the character, that's a problem. If she's pregnant, and the role doesn't call for it, that'll only make the problem worse. BTW, congratulations on not reading tabloids. Your parents must be proud of you.

So it looks like this has little to do with her pregnancy and more to do with the fact that you don't like her. I guess I haven't noticed the tabloid coverage, really, because I don't read tabloids.

She'll ruin it because she'll be noticably pregnant. It'll look ridiculous. These are real life people, you can't just write it into the script. The fundamental problem with casting Witherspoon, pregnancy aside, is the inability to separate Reese the celebrity from the character she is playing. She's always Reese Witherspoon, never the character she is playing. Given the tabloid coverage of her pregnancy already, and the fact that she flaunts it everywhere, it'll be impossible to separate it from what she is trying to do no matter what "techniques" they use to hide it in the film.

How would it ruin the movie? Maybe they start shooting in August, in which case they could probably shoot her stuff after she's had her baby.

I wonder what they are going to do about Witherspoon's pregnancy? I dont believe the mother was pregnant in real life when this was going on, so will they write it in anyways or shoot around it.
