10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesSheridan has joined David Gordon Green's "Joe" in a role that will find him co-starring with none other than Nicolas Cage. Welcome to Hollywood, kid. Penned by Gary Hawkins, and based on the 2003 novel by Larry Brown, the film tells the story of the unlikely bond between an ex-con (Cage) who becomes a role model to a 15 year-old (Sheridan) from a broken home, and their journey on the path to redemption and the quest for a better life in southern town. Of course, the wild card here is Cage, especially since we haven't seen the chops of the once Oscar contending actor in a long, long time. But hopefully this pairing and material will bring out the actor we no longer recognize.
Production on the movie begins on Halloween, which we hope isn't a bad omen. No distribution details or whatnot yet, but the picture will likely draw strong attention at the American Film Market where it will be repped later this week. Worldview Entertainment is financing and producing. [Variety]
