Okay, look, we still got some issues with "Thor." The costumes and set design, at least in Asgard, look ridiculous and director Kenneth Branagh still hasn't met a tripod he liked. Overall, tone-wise the last trailer didn't know if it was intentionally campy or not, and sometimes seemed like it was trying to be both. So if this is going to work at all, it'll be up to the cast to find that balance, and a new clip from the film seems to show just that.

Taking place just after the banished Thor (Chris Hemsworth) crash lands on Earth, the clip finds Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård and Kat Dennings trying to figure what is up with this random ripped dude whose in the middle of a cornfield. Not everything here works -- Thor's yelling to the sky is a bit hokey -- but Portman and Dennings display a pretty good partnership, with the former playing the straight man to the latter's quips. If Dennings walks away with the bulk of the movie's laughs, that will be fine by us.

The film’s huge cast also includes Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Idris Elba, Rene Russo and Adriana Barraza and it will arrive in theaters on May 6, 2011. [via Collider]

It's a shame Kat Dennings role in this film looks to be a complete waste of space apart from needless comic relief and not quite as pithy as the writers hoped they would be Generation Y remarks.

I just don't know about Thor as a film overall. Part of me says it might be the surprising underdog of all Marvel films, the other parts say steer clear of the crater it'll leave in your mind after having seen it.

This could have been ok if they picked the right person for Thor, but Captain Kirk's dad blows.

This actually looks kinda' funny (like it meant to be funny, not sooo bad it's funny.).

This film is looking more tolerable by the moment and with a nice sense of "Iron Man"-like levity, but yeah, it looks like it's going to be undone at every turn by Chris Hemsworth's "acting."
