10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesAccording to the writer-actress, who penned the modern classic high school comedy, she has been developing the project with musician husband Jeff Richmond, who composes the music for her sitcom “30 Rock.” Richmond also scored Fey-starring film “Baby Mama” and composed for “SNL” while she was head writer. Looks like he’s made quite a career of following his wifey wherever she may go! But her work is better for it. Richmond has done a fantastic job with the jaunty "30 Rock" tunes, and we’ll be excited to see what the couple’s next collaboration brings.
No details on what exactly the "Mean Girls" musical would bring forth plot wise, but we'd wager it'll pretty much just be like the movie, but, you know, with songs. It's too early for casting, but just bear in mind that the film featured early turns from Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams and Amanda Seyfried. And oh yeah, Lacey Chabert too. Either way, could be a stepping stone opportunity for some young talent with pipes.
Sadly, "30 Rock" airs its hour-long series finale tonight after seven seasons. Fey will star in dramedy “Admission” opposite Paul Rudd this coming March, but here’s hoping for another full-on Tina-masterminded project sometime soon. [E!]
