A few weeks ago, it was down to four to play Dr. Doom in Fox's "Fantastic Four" reboot, which they're pinning such high hopes on that they've already got a sequel date squared away. Sam Riley, Eddie Redmayne, Toby Kebbell and Domhnall Gleeson were in the running for the villain, but it looks like one has come out on top.
Variety reports that Kebbell has been offered the part, and if the deal closes (which we presume it will), he'll join the younger-skewing franchise starter that has Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell already slated to play the heroes. Kebbell is a longtime character actor who has probably been in a bunch of movies you didn't realize he was in. Quick: what two movies was in last year? Answer: "The East" and "The Counselor." And yeah, we had to look it up too.
So it's all up to Kebbell to sign on the dotted line for the Josh Trank-directed "Fantastic Four" that will roll in front of cameras this spring.
