It's "very much a character drama, also some kind of reverse love story between my character and Tom's character: they've been married for eight years when the movie starts and it's like a cold war between them," Noomi Rapace recently told us about her upcoming "Child 44." And it certainly seems like there is no love lost either between her co-stars Tom Hardy and Gary Oldman.

The first images from the thriller have landed online and they are both intense and romantic (those haircuts! that embrace!). Directed by “Safe House” helmer Daniel Espinosa and featuring an awesome ensemble including Jason Clarke, Joel Kinnaman, Paddy Considine and Vicent Cassel, the film is based on the Tom Rob Smith novel, and follows Hardy as a disgraced MGB agent in the 1950s Soviet Union investigating a prolific child murderer who may have connections going to the very top of the party leadership.

No word yet on a premiere or release date, so instead just put this on your list for 2014 for now.

Hopefully it's better than Safe House.
