Vera Farmiga & Andy Garcia To Get Romantic In Adam Rodgers' 'Admissions'

After a starring role in an adaptation of "A View From The Bridge" fell apart last year, Vera Farmiga's latest run of films have been dominated by supporting turns ("Source Code," "Goats" and "Safe House"), although she did get her directorial debut "Higher Ground" into theaters last year as well.

The 2010 Oscar nominee is set to kick back in leading lady status now and will star opposite Andy Garcia in Adam Rodgers' romantic dramedy "Admissions." Not to be confused with the upcoming Paul Weitz comedy titled "Admission" (whose title isn't pluralised), Rodgers' film is a tale that is part of the increasingly popular 24-hour romancers centering on "a once-in-a-lifetime relationship that develops between two strangers over the course of a single day."

Farmiga plays Edith, a free-spirited mom taking her driven daughter Audrey on a walking tour of a beautiful small collegewho meets Garcia's buttoned-up heart surgeon George, who’s taking his son Conrad on the same tour -- both of whom comically fail to connect with their kids and decide to play “tour hooky” together for the rest of the afternoon instead.

The script comes by way of Glenn German who co-wrote it with Rodgers, whose last effort behind the camera ("The Response") was short-listed for Best Live Action Short Film at this year's Oscars. [Deadline]
