The Best & Worst Of 'Man of Steel'

James Gray Talks Sci-Fi Project
Recap: 'Arrested Development'
Review: 'The Immigrant'The film will be based on a novella that makes up part of Joe Haldeman’s 1985 short story collection “Dealing in Futures” which tells the story of “an anthropological expedition to a planet with sentient humanoids that goes horribly awry.” The very “Prometheus” sounding project will have its script written by Sebastiean Gutierrez (“Snakes on a Plane,” “Gothika”) and is being set up over at Sony. Being a visual effects maestro (Miller’s background is at Blur studios, where he served as a creative supervisor on “Scott Pilgrim vs. the World” and as the creative director of the stunning title sequence for "The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo"), a science fiction romp seems a natural fit for Miller.
Whether this can get off the ground before any of the other projects Miller is attached to remains unknown, and Miller certainly isn’t making things easy for himself by continuously getting involved with ambitious, expensive movies. Still, it speaks volumes about his perceived talent that studios are willing to hand big projects to a guy who’s untested when it comes to directing a feature film, and that certainly marks Miller as someone to watch out for. Let’s hope one of his projects kicks it up a few gears soon so we can finally see what he can do. [Deadline]

Ah kind of unfair to point Guitierrez as the guy behind Snakes... and Gothika. Granted I have a soft spot for the guy since his directing debut "Juda's Kiss" and his amazing old-school creature feature "She Creature".
