Vin Diesel & Clark Gregg Part Of Far-Fetched Rumors To Play Vision In 'The Avengers 2'

With "Iron Man 3" shooting, and "Thor: The Dark World" gearing up later this year, and with no new Marvel movies until 2013, geeks are in a bit of dead zone at the moment. But leave it to Vin Diesel to get nerds to push the glasses up from their nose and hit the interwebs with feverish excitement. The actor recently changed his Facebook profile picture to that of Vision (it has been removed but you can view it here), leading some to think he was giving fans some kind of casting tease and not just posting a picture of a superhero that he likes. Apparently this counts as a "rumor" that he might appear in "The Avengers 2," even though Joss Whedon agreed to write and direct the movie only about a week ago.

Anyway, while we're at it, back in May MTV penned up a rather elaborate theory about why Clark Gregg's Agent Coulson, who may or may not have died off in "The Avengers," could possibly, actually be Vision. You see, Vision "is a synthezoid created by the the evil robot Ultron in order to wreak havoc on Earth's mightiest heroes," and what they suggest is that he was actually a decoy, with his cold and calculating manner all part of larger make up that could possibly mean he's not dead. Meanwhile, a superfan has gone ahead and made a model bust of Gregg as Vision, and you can see that image below (via ComicBookMovie).

All this to say? Some folks have too much time on their hands, and the rumor mongering for the next nearly three years until May 1, 2015 is going to be unbearable. [via ScreenCrave]

I can't stand Vin Diesel so I don't want to see him cast as The Vision. I can't see Clark Gregg playing him either. He doesn't seem tall enough nor does he have the body to pull off this character who is obviously in enormous physical shape. Even if Clark worked out - he's not a good fit - I just don't buy him as The Vision. Go with one of these up and coming British actors: Richard Armitage, Benedict Cumberbat, Matthew MacFadyen and Hal Ozsan. Personally I think Hal Ozsan would be PERFECT! (Look him up!). I can't think of any good unknown American actors, but I'm sure they are out there. I don't want to see A-listers! I want a fresh face and someone new to see on the big screen instead of the same old actors/actresses.

Who cares what Vin Diesel wants!! It's what the fans want and I'm a fan of The Vision and I DON'T want him to portray this character! I hope this rumor isn't true. For the love of The Avengers - don't cast him! Please!!!

Please DON'T let Vin Diesel play the Vision! I hope this rumor isn't true! Ugh...he's a horrible actor. Hey Hollywood Director's - you don't have to go with a known actor - there are hundreds of great actors out there to be had - Vin Diesel is not one of them. Don't destroy The Avengers team by casting him to play Vision.
