10 Essential Cinematic AntiheroesThe actor's production shingle Wild West Picture Show has snagged the rights to Ridley Pearson's novel "The Risk Agent," and have taken it over to Universal to start the ball rolling on a big screen adaptation that would star Vaughn. He would presumably play John Knox, a civilian with exceptional combat skills and cultural knowledge, who is teamed with forensic accountant Grace Chu, to investigate the disappearance of Chinese man, working for an American company in China, who vanishes along with his security detail. Adding a twist to the story, private investigation is illegal in China.
No word yet on who will write this thing, but it's one of a number of projects on Vaughn's desk at the moment. He's currently hanging out with Owen Wilson and director Shawn Levy making "The Internship," and he also has the the remake of the French Canadian hit "Starbuck" in the cards. So this file this away, and we'll let you know when it pops up back on the radar. [Deadline]
